If you are travelling through this are or exploring it for a day or two then this small hotel is a great place to stop over.

Rooms are large and simply appointed, food tasty and served in a simple buffet style - they get right what many a 5 star hotel cant ... Hot plates ....

Blown away at the landscape while driving the Barkly Pass for the first time...then stumbling upon this hotel for a much needed coffee break. The staff were off for new years afternoon but the hostess happily obliged to provide coffee. Very quiet, peaceful and loved the retro decor and unique layout of the hotel.

We just keep coming back to this great family run hotel and make it a point to stay over whenever we are travelling through the area. It feels like home with the warm welcome, the food and attention to the guests comfort. Elize and the owners always remember us and this makes it personal. The food is wholesome and plenty, just like the good old days. The crisp mountain air is invigorating and the cozy lounge and fireplace is perfect especially in the cold winters.

I recently stayed at mountain shadows hotel. It offers great scenery with the mountains around you as well as a great pub. The rooms are clean and have electric blankets and heaters which are essential in winter. The rates are very reasonable as the offer a dinner, bed, and breakfast.

A nice place to stay, especially in the middle of winter.

The crisp and fresh mountain air, the absolute quiet, the views, all are superb. This hotel has adequate and clean rooms although the towels in the bathrooms are not of the greatest.
The pub with its cosy fireplace is delectable and many hours can be spent here chatting to both old friends and new acquaintances. The hallway has some wonderful memorabilia on display.
All meals are included in your stay and they are very nice indeed. This is a great spot to stay and to explore the region. Rhodes, Tiffindel, seven wonderful mountain passes to explore. Yep it sure is a superb spot indeed.
