I recomend for everyone, and especially for families with the children, to visit this countryside Spa Water Paradise in Varska. For those who love beautiful and wild nature for relaxation and vacation. I recomend package deals for room and included spa privileges for use of the 2 pools, mineral baths and sauna use daily. I purchased a package deal for 35 euros per night. For healing treatments, there is an additional spa building that is close buy- not more as 100 meters away, and this spa offers very good treatments, You can find on the internet the different packages for massages, saltroom, etc. I recomend you first research by internet all the packages, and then call and talk with Varska Spa - their staff are very helpful. Remember, there are 2 buildings: one is the Spa Water Paradise- where I had a room, plus use of pools, mineralwater baths and sauna (recently renovated to a high quality standard) and there is a second building, the Varska Spa Sanitorium for different healing treatments.
In Estonia, most young people know English, In major towns, English speakers will not have any problems with communication in English. In the Estonian countryside, most older people do not know English, and that can be a little inconvenient, but it is generally easy to find someone who speaks English ready to help nearby, and they often do voluntarily. Estonia was recently rated Number 1 in English fluency as a second language in Europe.
I love this area (southeast Estonia) and spend time there enjoying the countryside and nature. You can go to the forest and pick wild berries, herbs, mushrooms (they are rated organic),and Lake Peipsi is great for swimming, kayaking, fishing, etc., and the Varska Spa is located on the lake.
I recomend to everyone that you go and explore the Varska area. Those who would like to have a more rustic experiences, can have it too, by finding accomodations around the Varska area that features small farms, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, etc., that offer rooms and board for travelers.
