Among the nicest restaurants in town... great food. The upstairs dining service can be a bit uneven.. from elegantly professional to barely acceptable. Food is expensive , the menu well curated. The bar menu is more reasonable and he bartenders are great

Had an awesome dinner here during the annual Restaurant Week. A three-course meal only costs thirty dollars.Service is fast and courteous. It is surprising that even the Restaurant Week menu has a lot to offer. Ordered scallops for appetizer and is a bit let down by the tiny scallops. The taste is excellent, though. The entree, Baby Clam Scampi over Linguini, is as good as expected. Portion is also very large. Chocolate decadence, the dessert, is nothing special. Number 5 may not be the best restaurant in the nation, but it's definitely the best in Binghamton. If you want an upscale meal, this is the place.

While it's a shame that this long time landmark will be closing at some time (for sale), I always prefer to eat locally instead of at a chain and so I stopped in for a quick dinner after a very long day at work. Service was just okay. Salad was uninspired. Waitress never brought any bread. Prime rib was flavorful but served almost raw when ordered medium -- it was bloody red! Twice baked potato was excellent. There are times when you get the most amazing meals & service at Number 5 and then other times when you wonder how this restaurant has stayed in business so long charging the prices that they do.

Food is good but not for the price.
Service is better than average. First floor primarily the bar...
Avoid...drinks way overpriced and one could be left with the impression that the local retirement home sponsors regular hookup nights. Go to Cortese's or Little Venice.
