Check your Savuti Camp booking, lots of camps with similar names, even some of the pictures tag above are incorrect. We had a great time here, in 2014 we slept in the campsite with very clean shower house and wonderful campsite (elephant came close while we were cooking dinner) and this year we stayed in the tented camp where we heard lions roaring through the night. Jess and her staff did everything to make us feel welcomed. Caution about Savuti in general, the sand here is legendary as the game. come prepared.

Room tip: all rooms are great. if the channel has water in it (not every year) its awesome.

We were staying in the tented camp/lodge - I see many of the other reviews are from people who were camping.
We were met at the landing strip by P Man, our guide, and transported to the lodge, where Felix and his staff were on hand to meet us.
P Man was an absolutely wonderful ranger/ guide! We had many great sightings (lion, leopard, hyena cubs and the list goes on) and he was a font of knowledge.
Accommodation in the luxury tents was good. Spacious, with comfy bed. Nice en-suite bathrooms (with tub and outdoor shower). No real view from the chalet to speak of. Bear in mind that the tents get stiflingly hot during the day (seriously - you cannot actually be in the tents, it is too hot) and absolutely freezing cold at night (although they do send you home with a "bushbaby" (hot water bottle) after supper)
Food was good, wholesome homecooked fare (Thanks, Mother!). Delicious freshly baked bread was on offer at every meal. Drinks were included, but the selection was somewhat limited in comparison with the other lodges that we stayed at.
We enjoyed our stay at Savuti

A thick and high wall protects the ablution block as if there were dinosaurs or zombies coming in the night. The campsites are marked by a number on a tree and are equipped with a fireplace and a concrete block with a tube sticking out. On the backside of that block, there is a hole where you can stick your arm in and turn on the water.

Camped 1 night and it wasn't a good experience. Very poor campsite, very noisy from other campers and a generator that just keeps on going. The Campsite is very sandy and not really clean. You need to drive to the toilet and shower area as the sand is very hard to walk across. Hard place to get to and from.....we travelled from Mababe Gate to Savuti via the Sandridge Road which is a pretty rough 4 hour drive with no animals visible anywhere...... a huge disappointment. The no animal sightings continued the next morning when we drove from Savuti to Muchenje via Chobe and the Forest Reserve....another 4 hours of rough dirt road before hitting the sealed road. A total of 8 hours plus of no wildlife at all and Chobe National Park is supposed to be the Jewel of Botswana. To say we were disappointed is a understatement.

We camped here for one night and we were happy to not stay longer. The campsite was spacious but very basic- We also barely saw any animals in the area, even whilst driving around chobe, close to Savuti. Not really recommended!
