My daughter and I had a lovely stay at this charming, updated homage to the Golden Age of the American Motel in March 2018 while on our way west to visit my son. From the Swallow's neon signs, to the original fixtures in the bathroom, to the old console TV set (non-functional) and rotary phone (functional), it was easy to do a little mental time traveling -- and difficult to avoid Bobby Troup's "Route 66" becoming an earworm. Jessica and Cameron were gracious hosts, showing us our room and the motel amenities, providing a hair dryer for my daughter, and advising on local eateries (the nearby PowWow restaurant serves excellent Mexican food). The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. My daughter and I enjoyed sunrise breakfast at one of the Blue Swallow's picnic tables, with donuts from the practically-next-door donut shop, before continuing on our journey. If you're looking for some of that Route 66 nostalgia magic, you'll find it at the Blue Swallow; and be sure to pick up some cool souvenirs in their reception area gift shop!

We stayed in the Lillian Redman Suite & it was great. Cute rooms, beautiful neon signs, wonderful vintage furnishings and decor; overall a perfect spot to stay the night and enjoy the past. I particularly loved all the vintage details. There’s a claw foot tub, fireplace and a working rotary phone. The people were friendly and nice and the bed was comfortable.

A MUST stopover. The owners are wonderful and personally take you to your unit. You really go back in time with the decor inside and out. The rooms may be small but are exceptionally clean. Each unit has outdoor seating with a small table to enjoy the beautiful weather. We had driven by it many times and this year decided to stay. We will only stay at this place when in the area. The bed is amazing!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great.

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay, and especially the comfortable beds. Many places brag about having "the best beds in town" but we prefer to let our guests do the bragging about ours. Nancy is very particular about the mattresses, and the 600-thread-count sheets.

We will look forward to your next visit!

This is a great little motel with a fantastic neon sign. The rooms are small, but clean and they let you know what a motel room was like in the 30s. The owners are friendly and helpful. If you're into the Rt 66 experience, this is a must see. Also, there is a '57 Hudson parked in front.
