Yes, do stay here!!! A wonderful country retreat. Great host Richard, fresh eggs each morning, lovely grounds, a funky (and I mean that in a good way) Taos experience. Hammocks and flowers. It was all so appealing that we hardly went out to eat. Got picnic supplies and ate on our patios.

Thanks for the review! Yes - it's what most of my guests tell me: That they stayed at "home" more than they went out! It's a huge compliment to me .... and I'm glad that you slowed down enough to hang out and enjoy the property! Come back again for a visit soon!

We booked late for a holiday weekend and were only able to book "The Studio". We thought it might be a bit big for just the 2 of us, but it ended up fitting our needs perfectly. The queen size Murphy bed was surprisingly super comfortable and the bedding was cozy and soft. The Studio is basically a fully equipped apartment and when we arrived there were snacks and a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us after our drive from CO. We met Richard, our host, who is so welcoming, warm and kind. We got a short tour, met the girls, and were made to feel right at home. Richard doesn't hover over you, this is not a traditional "bed & breakfast", and we weren't expecting that... but every afternoon he brought fresh eggs to our unit and made his garden open to pick fresh greens and herbs to cook with. Such a treat! One morning he arrived with fresh baked muffins, and on our final afternoon we came back to fresh baked cookies (and of course eggs!) waiting for us. Richard was also very gracious with suggestions for restaurants and other outings in Taos. He knows and loves his town!
We felt so comfortable and welcomed here... we will definitely be back- and probably bring some of our friends and stay in a different Casita that accommodates more people! Thank you Richard!

After having traveled for years around the world for business and pleasure, I am particularly attuned to high quality experiences when staying away from home. What Richard has created is simply magical - the beautiful casitas, the lovely property, the fresh eggs every morning and Richard's hospitality and attention to detail all worked in concert together to create a wonderful, high quality, relaxing experience.

We will be back!

David

This was where we came for our first wedding anniversary. Richard is an amazing host and Casa Gallina is our new home in Taos. The casita we stayed in was comfortable, stylish, and more than we hoped for. It made us wish we lived there. Feeding “the girls” our leftovers never gets old. And finally, Richard is an incredibly gracious host. From the cookies and blue corn-orange marmalade muffins he brought us in the morning, to his recommendations around town, to the fresh eggs he stocked our room with each day, we always felt welcome. Not only do we recommend Casa Gallina, we intend to return and bring family and friends with us whenever we we can.

This is a beautiful place with ideal lodging arrangements. Each little house is perfectly designed and furnished for comfort and privacy. Only a 5 minute drive from the attractions of Taos, but far enough removed to be quiet. Richard the host is wonderful...and...hey...Fresh Eggs!
