When all one sees on a 3 hour drive is a chameleon and a giraffe one wonders what is wrong with the system of ranger expertise. Especially when an interest was specially expressed in hyenas, who we know has a den?! Why restrict the area available if there is nothing to see in that area? Most frustrating and unsatisfactory.

We spent 3 nights/4 days at Kapama Buffalo Camp. The Camp offers luxurious "tents", filled with modern, comfortable amenities. The staff is fantastic. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Our guide, Chris, and tracker, Safary, were knowledgable, professional and fun to be with. The Camp management was very helpful in arranging alternative transportation, when our original airline was grounded. Why stay in a lodge, when you can enjoy Buffalo Camp!

What a great place to enjoy and relax! Kapama is directly across the road from Hodspruit airport and it's actually a bit of a game drive just going to the camp.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed we felt like VIPs. All the food and service was absolutely top level. The lodge and boma are old style and beautiful.
Buffalo Camp is small and we felt like that added to our experience. It also lived up to it's name with a herd of Cape Buffalo wandering around not far from the entrance. Our bush walk with Chris actually had to be moved because of the close proximity of the herd to the camp. Try to do a bush walk if you can, it's a different perspective from the vehicles.
The tents are amazing. I'm not sure it's fair to call them tents. They all have air cond, refrigerator, coffeemaker and everthing else you could want including three styles of electrical adapters. Very nice.
Kapama is a beautiful area shared by four lodges and everyday our ranger Hancho [hope I spelled his name correctly] would try to go into a different section and find new animals. We saw all the big five and many others including hippos. A great ranger/tracker team.
One morning we did the optional elephant interaction. It was fantastic! Touching and feeding these giants of the bush was amazing. Definitely worth our time. After the visit to Jabulani our guide Jeffrey found our ranger out in the bush and we were able to finish our morning game drive with our friends.
We would recommend Kapama and especially Buffalo Camp to anyone wanting an enjoyable, intimate and luxurious Safari.

The Kapama Buffalo Camp was totally amazing. The accommodations and associates who work at this location are great. They really run a great operation. The most important thing on any Safari is the tracker and the guide. Chris and Safari are truly amazing. We were with them for four days and each day we experienced something different. Chris is constantly looking for all animals and provided excellent service and information throughout our entire stay. He definitely should be requested. Chris and Safari found all the animals we were looking for. The night Safari was amazing and we will never forget the experiences of each of the three nights. Chris is extremely knowledgeable. He really cares about the animals and is a very dedicated associate. We definitely will recommend Kapama Buffalo Camp

Spent five days in April-May at Kapama. Incredible staff and food. A shout out to Monica our Ranger and Foster the tracker. Incredible wealth of knowledge and patience with our questions. Saw many animals on all of the drives and Monicas' judgement with how close to get to them shows a lot of experience.
A got very sick the second day and Claire drove me into town to see a physician. Thanks Claire. Great conversation on that trip.
Food is superb and loved the accomodations. We want to return with our adult sons and their girlfriends. Definitely a superb small lodge. Excellent up to date open vehicles with two across seating. We will return!.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be well located on elevated walkways
