It is definitely a place for tourists, but with a great choice of fresh seafood. Would definitely recommend going there, however you should be prepared that prices are very high as for Vietnam. For example fresh lobster (still alive) was offered for 1 350 000 VND (November 2016) per 1 kg, and fresh lobster in the ice was 800 000 VND per 1 kg. However I have never tasted so delicious lobster before :-) Would recommend to go at leas once for dinner when visiting the island. I have chosen to eat at Quan An Gia Nyugen as it was pretty crowded not only with tourist, but rather with Asian people.

Really high prices in general, double the price compared to places elsewhere. We where not impressed by the quality either. Did not try all places of course but we did look at the prices in general.

Very uninteresting food for tourists - such a disappointment when the fresh produce looked so good. No effort made to provide dipping sauces or flavour. Also beware a very low rate of exchange if you don't have enough VN Dong so go to the cashpoint before venturing out.

We arrived before the hustle and bustle and enjoyed uncrowded streets and watching as vendors set up. We ate our fill of flavored, candied peanuts and checked prices and fish all along the river, finding the best looking red snapper at the best price ($4). Grilled and seasoned just right. We then had homemade organic ice cream from a street cart. This market is totally worth a visit.

Don't expect to buy anything here if your a tourist. It's essentially a fish market and local restaurants that you take your life into your own hands if you eat in them. Have a walk around go for a drink and then move on. One of the worst markets in Vietnam that I've been to.
