Simply not worth it. Everything is at an additional cost; additional person, extra bed, extra fleece, etc. Dining in the restaurant (Barefoot bar) is also expensive and a seafood lunch for 3-4 costs about P2,600. There is also no free breakfast included in the package.

The beach in Baloy, Barretto may be its redeeming factor. Though not white sand, it's not rocky not dirty, and very good to swim in.

Overall, we would come back to Baloy beach but will stay in the comfortable hotels in the Freeport.

Air conditioning in room very week, called maintenance and was told that's the way it is. Paid for 16 days upfront.... my mistake. Pool is best in town. Good good. Rooms well worn, showers and old. C/R very small. Bed ok. Front dest, restaurant staff friendly

Stayed for a weekend, nice little place, but dated. Could use a bit of refreshing. Just looks like they never updated it after opening. All and all, good experience, staff was courteous, food average. If you are just looking for a hideaway and are not concerned about modern furniture, or 80's look & feel, then this spot works.

Room Tip: When selecting a Ocean view room, make sure you tell them you don't want the one with Bar view

We occupied the beachfront room which cost quite expensive. The price per night without breakfast and the room wasn't really that amazing. The service needs to be improved. The door is just single lock and there was one time the housekeeper opened it while we were inside. Another thing, the power went out one night. Took few mins before it came back. It was so dark inside and there was no emergency light whatsoever. However, we still enjoyed their nice swimming pool.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are not the best choice.

Sadly this hotel is no where near the standard of Wild Orchid Angeles City. Confusingly it is more expensive. Unless they fix up the rooms and surrounds we would not ever stay there again. We were booked to stay 3 nights but left after the first. It is sad because the Wild Orchid Resort in Angeles City is so very much better and potentially Subic Bay Resort damages their overall good brand name.

Thank you hhx5 for taking the time to give your feedback. Thank you for also choosing to stay at the Wild Orchid Resort in Angeles City and pointing out to readers that we have a good brand name. I've spent quite a lot of time at our Subic property and have started to carry out a modernisation program for the hotel, in particular we will be focusing on the rooms and grounds and this will be ongoing without any disturbance to guests. Regarding pricing, I'm not sure on what room category you choose but our pool side and beach front rooms are a premium room due to the pool accessibility and beach. Our King Deluxe rooms when you stayed are a very similar price to the Wild Orchid Resort in Angeles City. We hope you will drop by and ask to view the property again on your next visit to Subic.
