We stayed in the top floor two bedroom apartment with a private pool (which can also be a 4 bedroom private villa). There are additional ground floor rooms, and pods (to accommodate backpackers). The common space is tasteful and lovely and both pools clean and fantastic- a lovely ambience. The breakfasts (included) were delicious and staff all friendly and courteous. A little gem in an ideal location minutes walk from all Seminyak has to offer . We have travelled extensively around the world and this beats hands down the 5 star soulless hotels. In our view it was better than any hotel we have stayed in at a fraction of the price. Just lovely.

It was an amazing experience to be in Bali and stay at Villa Karisa. I recommend this place and will be back next year definitely.
Good food, facilities, swimming pool, location, price, security and communication.
Thank you all.

super friendly staff, including Leila the dog... !! :-)))
I highly recommend this hotel for everybody who seeks a quiet place with lovely decoration and food after a busy day....
I loved every minute of it.
Very friendly and competent driver who picked me up at the airport and drove me to the local dance attraction.

So, it was coming to the end of a very bad stay in karisa but the worst hadn’t yet even started. I’ll get to the beginning of the story later, however the end is the worst. Cleaners came to our room about 2 days before we checked out cleaned our room, threw away a large bag of my girlfriends dirty clothes in the bin, about £150 worth of clothes. We spoke to the manager regarding this saying it’s been throw away, can you find out why or help us etc. She spoke to the cleaners who said they didn’t throw away a bag, only one item of clothing. Didn’t say why they threw it away just that they did. The manager said they didn’t throw a bag, and said you threw it away, why you throw it away?
We obviously didn’t as why would we? My girlfriend got upset by this, various of the workers there clearly found this funny. One even smirked in the face, the manager didn’t care at all. Didn’t want to help us, they even said “never had hotel guests like you before” it’s ridiculous to think this happens in Bali. We love Bali and almost everyone in it, but the workers here were awful. Rude, constantly to us during this complaint and didn’t even care.

Paid extra for a room the shiva room- which is more than the standard room. Little known is next to a hostel, walkway in and out of hotel, no wifi reaches this room. The hostel is often very noise as travellers gather there to drink socialise etc. Spoke to the manager as we were kept up late at night due to the noise, she offered to down grade us to a new room, no refund, sorry, etc. So we either lose the money we paid extra for or deal with noise. We moved rooms but the manager never once said sorry offered help or cared. The managers response to us being dissatisfied was “ well no one else has complained”. Not a service you should ever get in a hotel or a “ boutique luxury villa” which is what villa Karisa is supposedly.

I recommend everyone who wants to book here in the future to avoid the shiva room and don’t be fooled by the photos online.
Management was shocking, she literally couldn’t care less. We paid extra for a nicer room and she didn’t care if we had had a bad time in there or want to help us.

Breakfast in karisa - it’s not worth it. One morning we waited 45 mins while breakfast area was empty we were only guests waiting for our food. We ordered scrambled egg with toast, and French Toast. Took 45 mins to make and it is what it says on the tin, quite literally a bit of egg slapped on a bit of plain toast.
Very very disappointed , everything else on a menu you pay “ extra “ for. Such a basic bad menu. Not worth paying for it to it with the room to the restaurant next door.

Am very disappointed and let down as out of all our hotels in Bali this was one we looked forward to the most for a relaxing time. It has turned out quite the opposite.
I personally wouldn’t stay in this hotel again.

One of the things we want to do in Bali was to stay in a villa to truly have that ‘Bali experience.’ So after staying couple of days in a resort by the beach we went and stayed at Villa Karisa Boutique hotel deluxe room. The room is nice with little touch of Bali. Definitely need some upgrade. Wish there were more lights in the room and bathroom. Best part is probably the pool area as it was just so relaxing to spend some time lounging by the pool. Be sure to at least spend an afternoon just relaxing. The free breakfast is okay. Try their all day meal. We enjoyed beef rendang and the fish curry. Some staff specially those in the front desk needs some training and to coordinate with one another. I think coz the system is still very manual that’s why they just rely on one person in terms of billing.
