We arrived at the same time as Joshuag (we followed them in) & stayed in the room next door facing the harbour but suffered none of the issues experienced by Joshuag (perhaps he didn't stay long enough) as Seacliffe Lodge was all we expected & more (the staff as well as the amenities).
Shuttle to & from airport booked & operated as arranged.
Lovely room with all mod cons (ample stand in shower) & view from balcony over Hout Bay (we were not disturbed by any loud noises - we are not deaf). Suegne is a great hostess & her staff are friendly in a homely environment. Chef stands in the open kitchen cooking the breakfasts on demand. Great fish restaurants in the area which we visited twice.
Happy to stay again

A pile of glass in the driveway from a previous car break-in welcomes you. A horribly loud noise from the industrial air-conditioning system cooling the fish plant across the road from our room made sleep impossible. Closing the window made little difference and would have been impossible since there is no alternative ventilation in the room. The shower took 5 minutes to warm up, and the water jet resembled that of a car wash power-jet not a remotely soothing shower. The bathroom itself is tiny, tiny. The cracks around the door keep the bright hallway lights streaming into the bedroom and directly into your eyes. We came for a romantic getaway and ended up packing up and going back to our home in Cape Town. Both the accommodations and the host were a huge disappointment. Judging from the high ratings for this Lodge our experience might have been a one off, but frankly I don't see how.

Dear Joshua Gofman

To set the record straight for the people that you want to give a bad impression of Seacliffe Lodge.

You checked in on Sunday the 12 February at 19.13pm with only one backpack as luggage. I took you to your room where I opened the balcony door and left it open on your request with the door lock on, as the wind was blowing. Not sure how the noise did not bother you then?

You and your Partner left for dinner at 19.55pm

You Returned to Seacliffe Lodge at 22.30Pm

You and your Partner left Seacliffe un-announced, with your backpack at 23.16pm

All this information was handed to the Police at Hout Bay Police Station.

The next Morning your Credit card was declined, I sent you an SMS to please supply us with new credit card details.

You then replied with the story as per your review above, including a threat of posting this.
It was very clear that you had no intention to stay overnight and only came for a "romantic evening". I laid a Bilking charge against you as you had booked in and gave credit card details that was declined the following morning.

When requested by Hout Bay SAPS to answer to the charge, you became very aggressive and said that I should continue with the charge. Only when the seriousness off the charge was explained to you, you decided to pay.

Now you are using this spiteful posting to try and justify your action. It sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other postings for Seacliffe Lodge.

Wonderful stay. Lovely staff. Super Owner. Great breakfast chef.
Wish they would install modern shower mixers as separate hot and cold taps are a nuisance.
Overall very good. Am returning in February 2017

Seacliff lodge is nicely situated in Houtbay. Yhe hospitality is great and the breakfasts of Musa are worthwhile to stay an extra night. So we stayed 4 nights. The distance to Kaapstad is okay and the different roads rowards it worthwhile driving.
