We spent 3 nights at La Fontaine. The guest house is a charming place. Our room was ample, clean, quite and private from the other rooms/guest houses. The guest house is one block from the main street in Franschhoek and an easy walk to all shops and restaurants in the town. The pool was a touch green, but, that was due to the severe water shortage in the area. Breakfast was in a small outdoor court yard; ample breakfast and a great setting.
One thing our travel agent didn't advise us of, is the need to book restaurants and even the winery tour train, well in advance.....think along the lines of a month or two in advance in the busy season. Not the guest houses fault. We still got into some great restaurants.
