I haven't been here in about four years, yet time stands still at the Summit Diner. The short order cook and owner. like Dorian Gray, have not aged and it is still one of the best places in the area for breakfast. Eggs cooked properly with six slices of bacon; toast with a healthy smear of butter - no butter pats - and excellent coffee. Service is with a smile in this small eatery that boasts six booths and counter stools. Be prepared to wait in line outside on a Sunday morning because the locals queue up for a Sunday breakfast. Ham and eggs with hash browns is another winner. The menu also covers a wide variety of soups as well as entrees such as meat loaf, chicken and steak. Bit it's breakfast that is the great draw. It is small, in the style of an old railroad car and most important, spotless. A true blast from the past.
