There is no place in Red Bank that's more in need of an overhaul than The Bagel Oven. The place looks positively dilapidated, as though home center castoffs are used for day-to-day repairs, and signage is of the magic-marker variety. That being said - there is no place in Red Bank where you can get a better bagel. These are the real deal, handmade by owner Frank and his bakers in the right way. They have just the right chew, and the heady, yeasty smell of freshly baked bagels when you walk in the door will cause bagel lovers to swoon. There are no surprises here, no fancy-schmancy additions to the basic bagel roll call, but if you want a bagel that fights back a little when you bite in, the kind you can eat happily with nothing on it - this is your place.
