Visited 6/29 for drinks and dinner with office friends... we all work in Red Bank. Waitress was excellent- but she could not get the male bartender to make the BACKLOG of drinks. We watched as he talked to 2 older gentlemen sitting at the bar for at least 20 minutes. The delayed cocktails were awful and we changed them for wine after we tasted them. Dinner was good and we skipped coffee and dessert since we were there much too long waiting. Better off going to one of the more seasoned restaurants on Broad St. Will not go back.

This place epitomizes why no one goes to red bank anymore. We came here for dinner/drinks before going out.

Had a burger and mid level scotch and bill was over $50. Turned out that they charged $27 for a glass of scotch that typically runs $15-18. (Typically not even $20 at most expensive nyc bars).

Asked manager to confirm price and was told “these are our prices and I should have asked for price. Johnny walker blue label costs $43 a glass”. Very frustrating response since I asked for a whiskey menu, and they didn’t have one.

This place tries to pretend its a manhattan/hoboken bar, but it’s no longer trendy. Food is average. Service is slow. Very overpriced.

My experience was a perfect example of why this place is no longer crowded at night. Do yourself a favor and go to Asbury like everyone else.

The Downtown is in a great location to hang out. Right in the heart of red bank and close to the water and other shops. One of the best places for happy hour, drinks, and dinner with friends. The prices are decent and it can get a cocktail as low as $10. Beers are around $5. Dinner menu has a variety of dishes to choose from. There’s a good amount of American choices and a large sushi section. The rib eye grilled cheese with arugula is absolutely amazing and a must have! They only offer 2 desserts, so not necessarily the best dessert spot. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. The dinner entrees all sound amazing and are unique. I had a hard timing deciding what to get but the grilled cheese was the right choice for sure!
