We’ve been goong there for 10years, at least 2x a year. Never had problem with the service or the room. We went back on sept. 1st 2018 and there was a bad smell, one of the beds was broken and in an angle and there was a freaking mouse in the room!! We went to the front desk and they check us out and didnt tried to help us or offert us something. The manager just looked at us and said im sorry and left.

Never going there again

Not a bad hotel if you must save $ and you plan to drive into nyc. It could use a renovation. A colleague had a broken air conditioner. The free breakfast however is subpar and I often stay at hotels such as these with my family for convenience. The bagels were always dry, little to no fresh fruit of poor quality. The only yogurt had sucralose in it. No variety from day to day whatsoever. Family owned. Gentleman very nice. Female ( his wife?) not so much!
The area around is very industrial and sketchy. Shares a parking lot with a holiday inn express ( I think) which looked nicer??

The price was right for this hotel considering the proximity to NYC, but you don't want to do much more than sleep there probably. We were on the top floor so traffic noise was minimal but we likely wouldn't hear it over the noisy air conditioner anyway. There were a few little things like a flickering light bulb and the handle on the toilet that was broken inside the tank and ran all the time. The room was clean but didn't feel really fresh, some stains on walls and drapes. The complimentary breakfast was good and the staff were all friendly. The shuttle bus to Times Square was certainly convenient but it starts to add up in price if you do it a few days in a row. Driving to a PATH station and taking a train into the city is a more economical way of getting into Manhattan. The is plenty of parking and the area around the hotel, though quite industrial, seemed completely safe.

hotel was lovely, staff friendly

The geographic area is busy and hectic, but if you're use to that type of travel/driving - it's all good! We did a practice run to the Statue of Liberty park - suggest you do the same the day before so as no to 'miss the boat' if you're heading to the statue!

Great Argentine restaurant next door! Great food & service so walking next door to eat eliminates the need to drive for dinner!

Room Tip: the higher up, the quieter it will be!

It's never a good sign when you are privy to a conversation between the front desk clerk and the hotel (live in?) "handyman" regarding their laundry and who was putting their clothes in the dryer next. I could have overlooked that if the woman at the front desk was helpful and personable. When I asked her about the shuttle into the city, she directed me (by way of pointing) to the flyers on the nearby desk, "I have nothing to do with that. Look over there."
"Does the shuttle come right to the hotel? Where does it pick up the guests?" I asked.
"I don't know. Look at that" she vacantly replied. Perhaps she was busy thinking about her tumbling clothes.
The lack of actual assistance and uncleanliness of the property (small black hairs on the sheets on both beds and hairballs found in the bathroom) led us to conduct a thorough search for living things we did not want biting us. We ended up having a horrible night's sleep thinking about what we may have missed in our search.
Never again. I suggest the management take a course or two in hotel management, or at the very least, customer service.
