This is a relatively small eatery with a bar that's always crammed with people enjoying a great selection of beers and terrific cocktails. They make a terrific bourbon old fashioned. But it's the food that really sparkles. Nothing gourmet but oh so good old fashioned home style cooking that stays on the palate. Start with the potato leek soup and you might want to forgo the entree and have another bowl. It's velvety smooth and leaves such great flavors in your mouth. I recently had the 1 lb. meatloaf with real mashed potatoes, grilled onions and a smooth beef gravy. It doesn't get any better. The rack of lamb is excellent as is the fish and chips. Friday is raw bar night. The service is always with a smile by young energetic servers and the owner, who could really double for Santa Claus without the beard is a charmer who is always there to say hello to all his customers.
