So this review will mostly cater to Indians who are deprived of home food for a fairly long time.
All the food that was ordered which included Biryani, Chili Chicken and one more chicken starter was delicious. The waiting time was also very less considering a usually crowded place that it is on a crowded street full of hungry Indians. Considering I live in Rochester, where we are short of quality Indian food, my expectations were low, but nevertheless met. It is a slightly small place and little congested, but not discomforting.

The only complain I have is the very little quantity of starters that we received, all the more coz they were tasty. I have not visited any other eateries for authentic Biryani in Jersey City, so not drawing any comparison.

P.S.: If the owners are reading this, please do start serving fennel seeds at the end. I almost gave you’ll 3 stars coz our meals felt incomplete without them.

Tried a few other places and this place turned out to be the best Indian food on Newark Avenue. The waiting staff was very friendly and carefully took note of our requests and the food was cooked according to our specification. Have been very pleased with the restaurant staff and management. Visited this location twice in our 2 day stay. Thumbs up from us!

We went to try this restaurant after seeing a nice poster about Ramadan special. We had our baby with us in the car seat so we wanted to sit on the cushiony seat tables but they said oh its reserved(probably that was the God's sign that go back lol). At least there were 8 empty tables and till the time we were there no one came. Ordered one goat haleem platter and Hyederabadi Chicken. We had to wait 45 mins just for these two thing even though the whole restaurant was 80% empty. Finally we got our food on table after 45 mins and it was a disaster. Everything we got in the platter was a joke expect Samosa and naan. Goat Haleem was tasted like u microwave raw meat(2 tiny pieces like a dime) with some kind of curry. In the name of fruit we got papaya and pineapple cubes, pineapple was ok but how can you eat a unriped hard papaya? Hyderabadi chicken was also full of curry leaves with tasteless curry, taste like frozen chicken with veg curry. We did provide our feedback about the food to the supervisor there and he did apologise and gave us 20% discount. They should not advertise something which they cant prepared. We will never go back to this restaurant for sure.

Recently visited the place. Tried biryani and Chicken 65. Although the chicken 65 was very much different than I have eaten anywhere else, still the new flavor impressed. The curry leaves gave it nice aroma and taste. Biryani though had a different flavor, but still was good.

Deccan Spice is a small joint that remains open till very late on weekends and serves pretty okay Indian grub. We have tried their goat and paneer makhani biryani, both of which are a hit miss kinda dishes. Some days good, on others okay. Their parathas are pretty decent and if you have a dosa craving late at night, you can go knocking there. The dosas are okay. All in all, just about okay.
