We lost power during the Nor'easter storm, so it was off to Jake's for dinner. Of course, everyone else without power went out too. We heard there would be a 30-40 minute wait, but we everyone seemed to be seated after about 10-15 minutes.

We each had the knife and fork burgers. They were pretty large and came on a bed of sautéed spinach and a side dish. I went for asparagus, my wife got the sweet potato fries. It was great.

Service was smooth, despite the crowds. The stuff we're busy, but still smiling. They kept plenty of water at the tables.

Were there negatives. No. They had power. We had dinner!

We've been to Jake's several times and have always enjoyed our meal. The service is always excellent. The staff is friendly, professional, and well trained. Some of the standouts in our eyes are Chicken Francaise, the burgers, and the buffalo chicken tenders. We are looking forward to trying the prime rib and the schnitzel as we've heard good things about both. We are so glad to have a place nearby that we can always count on for great food and excellent customer service!

Jake’s (11/11) – Second Time Fairs No Better Than the First
This was only my second time here. Luckily, we made reservations in advance for 7:00pm because on this Saturday night the bar was in overflow mode as was the wait line for a table.

I was just as unimpressed this time as the last time. The chopped Mediterranean salad ($10 - Romaine, tomatoes, peppers, artichoke hearts, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, feta) was very small and more minced than chopped. I would have been better eating it with a spoon than a fork. It lacked any real flavor from the dressing and had only scant traces of feta cheese. The waitress disappeared so I could not even ask for more dressing.

The ale battered fish & chips ($19 - skin-on fries and vegetable slaw, remoulade) was average. The batter had no trace of a distinctive flavor but the three pieces of fish were cooked perfectly. The chips were very good, not over salted and crisp. The coleslaw was all vinegar and really a turnoff.

Stopped in for dinner after passing this place for years. The bar was your basic local almost sports bar with multiple TV's. With all the live sports available, it was odd to see one TV broadcasting classic UFC match highlights. The inside seems to go on forever with a dining area as well. The service was prompt and efficient. Drinks and food came up quick. We were not rushed, but this was not a take your time kind of meal. As for the food, it was just ok. The prime rib was only fair. It was not tender nor flavorful. I expected much more giving is was not inexpensive, being $26 for the 10 oz cut. They did have plenty of drink options at the bar. If I try it again, I will stick to pub grub versus fine cuisine.
