My family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) recently rented the garden apartment. The apartment was not only adorable, but well maintainted and spotlessly clean. Though we didn't use it much, the kitchen was equipped with everything we could possibly need and more. There was even a BBQ grill in the back yard! My kids were thrilled that it not only had a dvd player, but free wi-fi. I initially thought parking was going to be a concern, but once we parked the car, we only needed it once to go to the laundromat. The location was amazing! Only a block from shopping, restaurants and the grocery store. The trolley tour pick-up/drop-off location and bike rentals were also within a short walking distance. We loved that the beach was just a couple of blocks away as well. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay. The owner was very friendly and accomodating, even checking on us to see if we needed anything. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Cape May.

I rented the second floor apartment and loved everything about it. Meticulously clean, perfectly located, charming, quiet and comfortable. I especially appreciated the obvious care that went into decorating and equipping the apartment. In my experience, weekly rentals tend to include only the most basic necessities. This apartment was stocked with decent cookware, more than enough dinnerware and eating utensils, an iron and mini ironing board, blankets, extra pillows, a coffee maker and some things you wouldn't expect -- like wine glasses, a corkscrew, a cutting board and even guides to local attractions and restaurants. In addition to the apartment itself, I appreciated owner Kate Emerson's helfulness and efficiency. My emails when making the reservation were answered promptly and my deposit refund mailed to me the day after I left. This is my first Trip Advisor review; my only reluctance is making it is fear that it will be more difficult to reserve this apartment again in the future!

Initially I thought an apartment would be ideal for a week at the beach. The options were slim booking only three months in advance so we knew we would be paying a pretty penny. The pictures online looked great so we felt confident yet just a bit scetical because another reviewer left running. Yes it's clean, it has AC. There is cable, free wi-fi, even a dishwasher. All great. However bring your own sheets, towels, even toilet paper. We were there was parking. Yes but three blocks away. Also if you want fresh towels or sheets midway through the week be prepared to lug it to the not so near laudromat. All a bit inconvenient for the price we paid. Next year on site parking and laundy are a must. Best thing is the location. Just around the corner is the quaint shops of Washington St. and Carpenter St. Also so close to the beach we walk back for potty breaks and lunch. Would recommend for long weekends. Come in off season to save $$$.

On a recent trip to Cape May, in the aftermath of a once in a lifetime snow storm, I stayed for three days at the charming and stately Abigail Adams. Eschewing my usual motel choices, I wanted to be right in the heart of the Historic District. Frankly, didn't know what to expect of a private apartment, and was really pleasantly surprised. All the amenities were first rate, a Queen size comfortable bed in a well appointed bedroom, beautiful restored bathroom with Victorian style fixtures and tiling, a decently sized eat in kitchen overlooking the charming snow covered gardens in the rear. It even has a private entrance just off of tree lined and gas lit Decatur Street. Though its called an apartment,, it is more like staying in a large private one bedroom suite in an upscale historic inn. This would be a great place to stay in the summer for a vacation in Cape May, as the beach is less than a block away, and great restaurants and theater are just a short stroll across the pedestrian mall. A real find!
