Unexpectedly, Jim crafts the best pizza in the Wakefield, Effingham, and Ossipee area. The menu breaks it down into two major types : red and white (either it has a tomato based sauce or not). In each category about ten types of topping are offered. You can also order a custom topping combination from a lengthy list. The crust is generally thin but not too thin. It is cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispiness. The oven master is very good. Beyond the pizzas, the beer list is robust and always changing with a heavy emphasis on local craft beers. The business model of Jim's is very simple: pizza, beer, and pinball. About 20 pinball machines line the exterior walls. It's fun to watch people play, especially little kids. There is a small bar area and it makes a convenient place for single diners to eat. Overall the decor is rustic/practical with a nautical theme reflecting Jim's previous maritime career. Prices very reasonable. Open Wed - Sat. Jim runs a tight ship and his Wheelhouse exceeds all targets.
