“Remember the Past”

Sugar Hill Historical Museum
Attraction details
Reviewed 25 November 2017

Inside the Sugar Hill Sampler is a lovely museum. Several inhabitants wanted to keep the memories of the inhabitants of Sugar Hill intact.

They have now a gallery filled with pictures from the past. It’s cool, as we could see how they were dressed and their pastimes. It was well done.

There were also a lot of artifacts like dresses, objects, candle makers and way more.

They have kept every memory of people in this vicinity for people to visualize how people used to live.

All of this was for free. I was quite impressed!

Interesting trip back to the past. Every year the museum showcases a new exhibit focusing on the past when vacationers used to travel by train to the mountains and stay at the grand hotels.

If you go to Polly's Pancake House be sure to stop here for a visit.
The museum is in a giant red barn at the top of the hill. It is free to visit. All ages would enjoy learning the history of the area 100 to 50 years ago. See old clothing, house wares, farm tools, pictures. Call to see if it is wheel chair assessable.
There are old items in the lower level.
The staff was very friendly. There are cute potty toilets outside.
