We stayed here on the second stop of our Great Rail Journeys tour of New England in the Fall.
It was an excellent hotel. The rooms were sizeable, comfortable and clean. There were good views of the surrounding mountains from our room on the third (UK meaning !) floor. There was a fridge which we found very useful and a microwave which we used. We found the latter difficult to operate and a guide sheet would have been useful as we were not sure the thing was working properly.
Our room and floor were quiet throughout our stay. The hotel seems to have heeded previous comments on this site about children rampaging noisily along the corridors and there were signs about keeping noise levels down after 10pm.
We didn’t use the restaurants at all having read previous and recent comments on this site. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. One afternoon, some free hot apple cider was available in the lobby which was a nice touch.
Our tour took in both the Mount Washington Cog Railway and the Notch Train of the Conway Scenic Railroad, both excellent trips. The latter wa the best way to see the Fall colours.More
