We lived in Spain, and these tapas were as good as I have ever had! Reasonable you priced and the service was very attentive and timely. I would suggest making reservations, especially on a weekend or holiday.

My husband & I eat regularly at Tavern 27. We spend many weekends in Laconia & LOVE the food & drinks here. The service can be slow, so we just budget for that & plan on having a relaxing, leisurely dinner usually with friends.

There is a lot of staff turnover, but knowing what we are getting for mainly locally-sourced, consistently excellent food, we are willing to accept that.

They are regularly packed & you really do need reservations, so that tells you a lot of others agree with me. Definitely worth a try!

My husband and I tried Tavern 27 for the first time. It's quaint and rustic but I suggest making a reservation as it's not very big and quite busy.

The caesar salad was probably the best thing we ordered. Followed by the chickpea fries and inside out poppers. The chickpea fries were a little dry and could have used more condiments for dipping. The inside out poppers were so heavy on garlic we couldn't eat more than one. Craft cocktails were well made and cheesecake for dessert was good.
Since we wern't hungry our first visit and slightly underwhelmed we decided to give it another try. The next visit we ordered Steak Roulard Pinchos and again, super garlic flavored but not bad.
I would say it's just an average place but they are always busy so people must like it.

We sat at the bar and watched our bartender frantically serve drinks, take reservations, wait on tables, bus dirty dishes and direct staff. She was clearly overwhelmed but was keeping up with it all.
The owner then came on the scene and began to publicly verbally berate her for remainder of our stay. His comments we both demeaning and condescending to the extreme. This was all done a few feet from us and made it impossible to stay and enjoy our dinner.
I have never seen such a display of bullying and grotesque mismanagement in any public setting. Perhaps this explains why they have been short-staffed the last two times we've been there. Very unfortunate since they really do have an outstanding chef! We won't be back.

This place truly embodies the term hidden gem. In a small old farm house off the beaten path but every small plate is exceptional. Great spinach salad with chevre, candied pecans and craisins, nice spicy crispy calamari, great small crispy crab cakes and absolutely exceptional stuffed dates. If you are in the lakes region this place is worth the drive
