Talk about a top notch place to spend the evening. Upon arrival, Sandi & Fred welcomed us with a smile that lasted during our stay. The "Franklin Room" was really nice and all the rooms gave a sense of feeling at home. Breakfast was outstanding and we really didn't want to leave. Thank You Sandi & Fred for a fantastic stay that we will always remember.

Room Tip: Very quiet area

We had a lovely time at the Maria Atwood Inn. Sandi and Fred could not have been better hosts. The breakfast was great, plentiful and delicious not to mention Sandi's scones. We will definitely return. Very clean with comfortable rooms. Lots of sightseeing and beautiful country.

My wife and I recently travelled through New England and had the good fortune to spend two nights at the Maria Atwood Inn in Franklin, New Hampshire. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful, historic inn and meeting the owners, Sandy and Fred Hoffmeister. They were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about the area. Each of the beautiful rooms is perfectly furnished and immaculate. It is obvious that the Hoffmeisters truly enjoy their work and provide a beautiful setting for their guests to experience the mountains of New Hampshire.
Each morning at breakfast we enjoyed talking with Sandy and Fred. The breakfasts were delicious and nutritious and, of course, we enjoyed warm scones made by Sandy. We stayed on the third floor in the beautiful Mt. Washington room. It has beautiful furnishings, wooden posts and beams, a skylight, wood plank floors, and was very comfortable.
Staying at the Maria Atwood Inn was truly a highlight of our trip and we enjoyed visits to Flume Gorge, Franconia Notch, and the Old Man in the Mountain Historic Sight. Sandy suggested we try the Pub Restaurant for dinner and we enjoyed a great meal there.
We wished we could have stayed a few more days, but couldn't. When we left in the morning, Sandy, Fred, and Mooney (their beautiful white dog) were there to say goodbye and wish us safe travels. Sandy even sent us off with a bag full of scones for our trip! Hopefully, we will get to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mt. Washington room on the third floor. The bed was comfortable and we got a great...

Sandi and Fred make you feel at home in this historic inn. From the moment you walk in the door you see the charm and feel the coziness of the Marie Atwood Inn. Sandi is delightful and very welcoming, The antiques that adorn the inn are something to be marveled. The rooms are very warm and welcoming. We stayed in the Franklin room which was everything we expected it to be. Try the scones in the dining room as they are truly a treat. We stayed at the inn during sugaring season and the syrup was amazing. We highly recommend this Inn.

Thanks for the great review. We thoroughly enjoyed your stay at the Inn. Maple sugar season (AKA Mud Season) is often a slow time of year for us and having fun guests like yourselves to visit with is a very pleasant opportunity. Best regards.
