There were several plus points, including readily available coffee & cookies, a good sized room with a comfy bed, & mostly helpful staff

However, it's situated on a busy road, so was quite noisy, & the bedroom blinds didn't keep out much light in the morning

Also breakfast offered a very limited choice with no cereals or fruit, & toast had to be cooked to order - definitely room for improvement

Hello and Thank You for the great review! Our Inn King rooms are at the front of the property in original section of the Merrill Farm Inn. Yes, there may be some road noise, yet normally after 6:00 p.m. it is quiet. When you visit us again be sure to ask for a different room location. We have several King bedded rooms in the Barn Building along the Saco River. We will certainly pass the word along about more cereals, fruits and toast.

Pleasant very nice and comfortable accommodations. Very friendly and helpful
Staff that was very informative about the surrounding area. Our room was not really big but was in the original building. Stairs with no elevator is also not good for guests with large suitcases.

Thank you for your wonderful review! It's true we have a charming Inn built in the late 1700's but yes it's true this was before the elevator. If you have large luggage please ask a member of our staff normally we can help with a heavy bag!

While our overall experience was enjoyable, the complimentary breakfast (buffet) was cold, and didn't taste good at all. The wait staff seem to be unfamiliar with their environment, confused and not very friendly. I went down to give them another try for breakfast this morning and was told they only open for breakfast at 8am. I've never heard of that, most places open between 6 and 7 am. They really need to train their staff better, especially to ensure that the room service is much better as well.

We are greatly appreciative of your comments and see that overall you gave us a strong rating! I will look at what happened at your breakfast to ensure that all future breakfasts come out hot and delicious. This is an unusual review for us as our restaurant usually gets rave reviews, but we will investigate the staff "training" comment. Thank You!

The hotel was exceeded my expectations. The staff were extremely friendly and always happy to go the extra mile to make you stay feel comfortable. The double queen room itself, was clean and cosy and comfortably fitted a family of 4. Only complaint I have is that there restaruant prices are little steep.

I stayed one night at the Merrill Farm Inn. This was our first stay here and it was 2 adults and 3 children. We stayed in conjoined rooms which were very quaint. When travelling here, I used an older GPS that didn't bring me exactly to the location. It said that the address was about 1/4 before the actually destination, so if this happens just keep driving. Upon check in, you walk through the office area that has a lobby with plenty of seating, as well as rocking chairs outside. The check in process was easy, and I was informed of the dinner menu and selections. The Merrill Farm Inn has a restaurant attached called "The Barn", and they serve fresh "farm to table" dinner. The special that night was Prime Rib, and they also offer a children's menu. (We declined dinner, so no comment on the meal)

We had two rooms that were conjoined, and each room had 2 queen size beds with a mini fridge, bathroom and tv. Only 1 of the rooms had an air conditioner. Each room had different decor/theme, which was very cute. It had a very cozy/cottage feel to it. One room had a sink/vanity separate from the bathroom, which I found a little odd. The room we stayed in had an air conditioner and a fire place. The beds were all very comfortable and they provided plenty of linens/towels.

The only negative remarks I have, (which may have been solved if I called the front desk, but it wasn't a real hindrance) was:
The room we stayed in was very warm, come to find out the fireplace was on, and we didn't know how to shut it off.
When we tried to turn on the A/C, it wouldn't work... come to find out, the outlet it was plugged into was broken. Used a differently outlet and it worked fine.
In the other room, there was no fan or AC, the kids were getting warm.
When we opened the window, the screen wasn't in tact.
Wifi Signal was not very strong

Upon waking up, we went down to The Barn restaurant for our complimentary breakfast. It was a buffet breakfast with eggs, hash browns, sausage, bacon, pancakes. When you check in, just give your room number and have a seat. (don't forget a little cash for a tip). The Barn also has an outdoor seating area that overlooks a river.

After breakfast the kids explored outside and also the family room. In the family room there is a pool table with big couches and a TV. There was also board games and VHS movies, (but I did not see a tape player?)

This kept them busy while we loaded the car and checked out.

Overall a great stay and would stay again.
