On our way to Quebec City we hit a major snow storm and had to get off the highway. As luck would have it we ended up at the Adair Country Inn. They were so accommodating, the Inn is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are so comfortable with fireplaces and they have an awesome restaurant as well. The meal was delicious and ample, and waitstaff was very attentive. We were there to attend a company function, and we kept the staff busy with the number of employees there. The rooms, including the public rooms, were cozy and warm, despite the sub-zero temperatures outside. We'll be back for another meal sometime!

We flew into the Manchester NH airport bypassing Boston and drove about two hours North on I-93 to the Adair Country Inn. Nestled in a quiet grove of beauty, we checked in for four nights to tour White Mountain leafs in mid-October 2017. We had a quiet, sunny, comfortable room, good for sleeping at the left side of the Inn with its own entrance. The staff is pleasant, proud of the history of the Inn.
The Inn is a great spot for discovering the beauty of the White Mountains in the autumn season. Dinner is served except on Monday and Tuesday nights. The food is good with an upscale tick. In addition, a good wine list is available. On the off nights, we drove ten minutes to Littleton, NH which is a bigger little town with several restaurants, shops, banks, etc.
During our four-night stay, we drove some 300 miles total on good roads without much traffic touring Franconia Notch, the Kancamagus Highway—known as New England's most superb scenic drive, Mount Washington, and the historic five star Mt. Washington Resort Hotel. In between are the most beautiful fall foliage views you can hope to see in a lifetime.
We plan to return to the Adair Country Inn next year in mid-October.
Excellent in every category, wish we had more time to explore. Large site, over 200 Acres. All rooms are themed. Nice bar for cocktails and excellent dinner. Best Dinner on a two week trip at the restaurant.
I have stayed at Adair twice in the last month. I loved it so much the first time that I decided to stay there again when I was back in the area. From the lovely decor to the delicious breakfast, it was uniformly wonderful. The rooms are quiet, the beds are comfortable. Our room was cold in the morning on our recent visit - too early in the season for the heat to be on, I guess. Other than that, I have only the best things to say about Adair. Everyone we met who worked there was super friendly and accommodating. I will be back.
There were many good things about the Adair – a lovely house set in several hundred acres of grounds. The communal rooms were comfortable and well presented – especially the wood panelled bar which was a real gem. Dinners were excellent – good food and an interesting wine list.
Staff at the hotel were universally charming. Two separate, awkward, problems with our room were dealt with promptly and efficiently, and with fulsome apologies.
There were no choices of food available at breakfast, and guests were required to be in the dining room at 8.30. This was a bit too regimented for our tastes.
The room (Lincoln) décor and facilities were ‘period’ but were rather tired. The rear house gardens and terrace were disappointingly unkempt.
