We were in New Hampshire in October for a 'leaf peeping' experience. One look at this lodge, and we knew we had to stay here. The lodge is amazingly beautiful. The owners, Michael and Carol, are very personable. Carol prepared the breakfasts, which were all very good. One morning she even prepared individual souffles. We enjoyed breakfast next to the huge windows with nice views. The location is convenient to many activities and sights. Local town is quaint. We woke up one morning to about 5 inches of snow (very unseasonable), which caused a power outage. They had installed emergency lights in the bathrooms, which was helpful. Breakfast was prepared and available without a hiccup! There is only one negative remark I can make: we stayed in the Angler Room, which is on the first floor and someone was in the room above us keeping me awake walking the room in the middle of the night (for 3 nights). So, if noises bother your sleeping, I recommend staying in the rooms on the 2nd floor, even though they aren't surrounded with all the gorgeous wood logs.More
