The rooms were fairly nice however we chose a corner suite not knowing that it was literally right above Fremont Street. Our room was so loud and actually vibrated. The later it got the louder it got. My husband called him their hotels at 1 am asking if they had a room because we were in hotel hell.

I booked a last-minute one-night stay at The D using Hotel Tonight. It was one of the cheapest hotels I could find for Thanksgiving weekend. The price was right, and I'd stay here again if the price is low. I spoke to several front desk staff members, and they were all very friendly. However, the male manager was rather rude to me about temporary parking in the front during check-in. When I pulled up to check in, it was after midnight, and there was no valet attendant at the front. The valets must have all been dealing with cars. There's a sign in the front implying that you are allowed to park in the front for check-in, so I asked the male manager to confirm permission. He was quite rude and told me that he would tow my car, and I had to go back outside and wait for valet to return. If that's the case, it's fine, but put up a CLEARER SIGN and be polite in explaining that guests may not leave their cars out front during check-in unless there is a valet to confirm. The free wifi is slow but adequate. The fast speed wifi upgrade is $5. The edge of my bed sloped downward. The room was clean overall. The shower walls had a few small specks of soap. As other reviewers have noted, the location is in the heart of Downtown, and at night, it is pretty loud due to the Fremont Experience. There's a bandstand next door to the hotel (between The D and Four Queens), so be prepared for music until the wee hours. I didn't mind the noise but if you want to get to sleep early, you might want to look elsewhere.

The location is the best thing about this hotel. Right on Fremont Street. We enjoyed the McDonalds in the hotel late at night for a quick bite. Also, the coffee shop by the check-in desk has good coffee. The hotel itself, a bit run down, rooms mostly clean. It's good enough for a drunken gambling trip. Most rooms do not have refrigerators. Easy comp drinks if you sit at the bar and gamble.
