Owner description: We invite you to experience the Carolina sandhills, tucked away minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, in the historic part of Las Vegas. As you begin your Vegas golf round at Desert Pines Golf Club Las Vegas, you will feel transported from the closed-in casinos and overpowering glitz to a place where you can enjoy the fresh, calming scent of real pine trees. This Dye-designed golf course features over 4,000 mature pine trees lining the fairways with green grass running from tees to pins. White sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens fashioned after those at Augusta National Golf Club. Although there are no forced carries, four lakes will add to the excitement and beauty of your round. Spanning more than 50 hitting stations, the Practice Center is ideal for a pre-round warm-up or a stop to practice your swing. The two-level facility is covered, to protect from rain and sunlight, and features misters during summer months and heaters during the winter for ultimate comfort and enjoyment. Extended hours allow flexibility for golfers, with closing times at 11 p.m. The Snack Bar offers the delicious food served, situated conveniently next to the 10th tee box and within walking distance to the parking lot, the Practice Center provides a chance to perfect your game.

The highlight of the round was the golf boards. Never tried them before and they were a blast. We paid $109 for horrible greens. They were patchy greens. The frustrating part is I called and asked ahead of time how the greens were because they just treated them and the pro shop said they were great. The fairways are Bermuda grass and were not mowed very well. The staff was great! The layout of the course is challenging for a short course. If you live there, you pay $49 but if you are a tourist, they gouge you on that price. $109 is too much for this track. Stay away for that price.

Desert Pines golf, interesting layout. Very tight fairways, scenic but like others have said* painfully slow. I played on a Friday at 11:45 am and at thr 3rd hooe there was a log jam. My 3 some was stacked 4 deep waiting! A group had alrrady quit because if this and got a refund.

The course was nicely groomed except for the greens. The greens were chewed up and it was impossible to putt without a true roll. Glad price was only $89 because too many things were poorly handled. Slow play example, a group of 6 in front of us was able to keep pace with the twosome in front of them!! Ridiculous.

Recommendation, choose another course.

Was able to pick up a last-minute reservation today. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course given the hot weather we've had recently. Pace of play was great and the layout as what you would expect from a four star golf course. I will be back!

Got in 18 holes at this course which has the tightest fairways you can possibly play. If you spray your shots, this might not be the best place to play. The only downside is that the greens were bumpy and needed some attention. No GPS in the carts but they do sell a yardage book. If you use the Golfshot app, be advised that the yardages in the app were off.
