Owner description: We invite you to experience the Carolina sandhills, tucked away minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, in the historic part of Las Vegas. As you begin your Vegas golf round at Desert Pines Golf Club Las Vegas, you will feel transported from the closed-in casinos and overpowering glitz to a place where you can enjoy the fresh, calming scent of real pine trees. This Dye-designed golf course features over 4,000 mature pine trees lining the fairways with green grass running from tees to pins. White sand bunkers protect large, undulating, bent grass greens fashioned after those at Augusta National Golf Club. Although there are no forced carries, four lakes will add to the excitement and beauty of your round. Spanning more than 50 hitting stations, the Practice Center is ideal for a pre-round warm-up or a stop to practice your swing. The two-level facility is covered, to protect from rain and sunlight, and features misters during summer months and heaters during the winter for ultimate comfort and enjoyment. Extended hours allow flexibility for golfers, with closing times at 11 p.m. The Snack Bar offers the delicious food served, situated conveniently next to the 10th tee box and within walking distance to the parking lot, the Practice Center provides a chance to perfect your game.

Got in 18 holes at this course which has the tightest fairways you can possibly play. If you spray your shots, this might not be the best place to play. The only downside is that the greens were bumpy and needed some attention. No GPS in the carts but they do sell a yardage book. If you use the Golfshot app, be advised that the yardages in the app were off.

This was my 2nd time playing this course. It's probably the best value golf course so close to the strip. Great Pete Dye layout and a lot of scenic views from the back tees. It's relatively short but it's not an easy course with narrow driving windows and a lot of undulations on the greens. The downside here is that because it's got great value, it gets A LOT of action. Expect 5 hour weekend rounds on a course that only measures about 6300 from the tips!

Honestly I played the worst game of golf in my life. But that did not spoil what was a really enjoyable day.

The sun beat down as I tried to negotiate this tight well designed golf course. Fairways and greens all in good condition. A real test.

On the 19th bar service was friendly and chatty.

Heartily recommended.

Given the short distance of the course it seems like the greens were an after thought.....almost at times like miniature golf greens with odd shapes, some weird objects in front....all with the intent to drive up your score. Pin placements were also extremely odd..... Beyond that the service was excellent, the price was right and the fairways were in good shape. Our round came in at 4.5 hours which I did not think was too bad for a public course.

This course is centrally located and the price was reasonable. The layout was good. They have a nice, double decker, driving range with balls included with your round. The only drawback with this course is that they didn't keep the pace of play monitored. We were stuck behind a fivesome that kept us waiting at least 15 minutes per shot. When we started our round the started even commented that this group is usually quick, but they do play for money and can be slow. This would have been fine if the Ranger had ask them to quicken the pace. After 9 holes of this we decided to leave and let the club house know why. We never received an appology, which would have been nice. Just the same story about them being regulars that usually play faster. Won't be back.
