Owner description: Play where Tiger Woods won his first tournament, and the "RAT PACK" played and entertained. When you play golf at Las Vegas National Golf Club, you will forget you are in the desert. This exquisite championship golf course, conveniently located only 5 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, is the former host of the PGA Tour’s Tournament of Champions, Sahara Invitational and the Las Vegas Invitational. Classic in design, this course combines rolling fairways, glistening lakes and greens well protected by palm, pine and olive trees. Just after completion in 1961, The National, then called the Stardust Country Club, hosted its first professional golf event, the LPGA Championship. From that date forward history was made. The layout, designed by Bert Stamps, is traditional and is a challenge for the best of players. The National has become a landmark over the last 50 years. It was host to the movie “Casino”, starring Robert DeNiro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. Use a Cart, GolfBoard, or Scooter.

Las Vegas National was my first golf experience in the Las Vegas area. After doing a lot of research, I decided on this course because it was reasonably priced, challenging from the back tees and was not going through overseeding yet.

Pace of play was right on target for the course and there were Hosts making sure groups kept up.

Another plus was the accessibility of beverages as they had a drink cart on each 9.

I look forward to playing here again next time I am in town.

Thank Justin L

A truly great place for a visitor to play a fun round of golf. A show place of golf history on display in the club house including Tiger's first win.
A staff that is more than just helpful but will make a person feel like they are at home in their own resort.
The course is not long but is really a good test for the intermediate or high handicap golfer from the middle tees. The longer pro tees will test anyone.

We almost didn't play here because of some of the negative reviews. When we arrived, we were greeted by the Marshall and directed into the Pro Shop. All seemed good.
The negative comments we had read were about the litter in the creeks and the scruffy houses around the course. These were valid.
However, we enjoyed the course, and would play it again.

While this course is close to the strip and has an interesting history, it was very disappointing. The creek that ran through the course was very littered with beer cans, clothing and plastic containers. There was a homeless encampment next to one of the tee boxes and the surrounding area was run down.

Visited today
Had good breakfast there
As usual , because we were two ball we were made up into a four
Normally that's ok
But
One of the guys we played with had his daughter with him , aged about 7/8 , and she putted on all the greens with us .
Never encountered that before !
Running on the greens too
What the guys playing behind us thought of this whilst they waited to okay their shots to the green ,I can only guess.
