Las Vegas National Golf Club

Owner description: Play where Tiger Woods won his first tournament, and the "RAT PACK" played and entertained. When you play golf at Las Vegas National Golf Club, you will forget you are in the desert. This exquisite championship golf course, conveniently located only 5 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, is the former host of the PGA Tour’s Tournament of Champions, Sahara Invitational and the Las Vegas Invitational. Classic in design, this course combines rolling fairways, glistening lakes and greens well protected by palm, pine and olive trees. Just after completion in 1961, The National, then called the Stardust Country Club, hosted its first professional golf event, the LPGA Championship. From that date forward history was made. The layout, designed by Bert Stamps, is traditional and is a challenge for the best of players. The National has become a landmark over the last 50 years. It was host to the movie “Casino”, starring Robert DeNiro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci. Use a Cart, GolfBoard, or Scooter.

Two stars because the club house is nice. Decent food, comfy chairs.

Golf course is terrible. Rock hard greens grass scarce in fairway. Terrible neighborhood. Traps were full of weeds.

Not worth your time or $ to play

Originally called the Stardust CC when opened in 1961, you have to play this at least once if you want to really appreciate Vegas's early history. You can honestly feel the ghosts of Vegas past as on many holes there are historic markers letting you know it's past, including from the movie "Casino" with the plane landing on the 1st fairway, etc. Although its better days are probably behind it like an old casino, it is still a good track and is where Tiger won his 1st PGA event and it is the home of the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame.

Good little golf course with plenty of history. Played as the overseed had just been done so had to stick to cart paths. Some hidden gem holes, a nice little challenge for any level of golfer

I played LVN on November 2nd, and the fall rye overseed was complete, although not fully grown in. Joining a couple and another single, we wound our way around LVN and had a great golf experience.

This is an old school design, fair but challenging. Greens and traps were in good shape, and It was apparent that the Superintendent knows his stuff. The par 3's give you a nice variety of length, and we played around in 3 hours and 45 minutes, letting a faster threesome through as well.

The rate was fair, and it is an easy trip from the Strip. Homes that abut the course are 50's/60's style, but the property is attractive and well maintained. LVN will be part of my plans in any future trip to Las Vegas.

Needed a convenient spot for a foursome during a recent weekend trip to LV. Enjoyed great hospitality by the staff from the moment we arrived through the 19th hole. Course was challenging at times and a great round.
