The High Sierra Lodge is located on the north end of Lake Tahoe. The amenities of this location include access to the facilities of the Hyatt Hotel located next door which includes the beach on Lake Tahoe, the exercise club in the Hyatt Hotel and the Hyatt Hotel Pool (a few exceptions on busy holiday weekends). A number of reviews for the High Sierra Lodge mistakenly state reviews of restaurants that are not associated with the High Sierra Lodge, as they are part of the Hyatt Hotel. The High Sierra Lodge has NO restaurants on the property. In addition, one review stated their unit backed up to a "highway". The only road backing up to this property is a 25 mph residential road with a 15 mph school zone. This road is heavily patrolled by the Sherriff and they will give you a ticket if you speed through this area. All the units consist of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This is a fractional ownership property, so if you are renting from an owner directly or going through the Hyatt, you will need to verify the unit you are renting is meeting your expectations, as the owners will not give up their unit so a renter can get a better unit (some reviews implied they should of received a better unit). Also, summer is the busiest time in Tahoe ... on Holiday weekends, there are special rules throughout the Lake Tahoe area (e.g. limit on number of cars you can park on the property, etc.) for obvious reasons. So fare warning, call in advance if you are not aware of these standard practices as I noted several reviews seemed to be so surprised (BTW - you can park on the road which is minutes away not hours as implied by one review). We have visited Lake Tahoe for over 20 years now and we find this location one of the prettiest places in the world that you will remember your entire life. The property is upscale, well maintained and the front desk, engineering, housekeeping and the management team are excellent.

Recently stayed at this beautiful property for a family winter vacation. We arrived early in the day and the staff was very accommodating to our early arrival and immediately got us into our room. We were on the ground floor of building #4. The 2 bedroom condo with full kitchen was clean and comfortable with a great "backyard" for the kids to play in the snow and creek that runs behind the property.

We were able to use not only the facilities on property but also those right next door at the Hyatt Regency and skiing at Mt Rose was a short drive away.

All of the staff was helpful and friendly, especially Riley who greeted us on arrival, got us movies to have family movie night in front of the fireplace and even helped us mail back our ski clothes to getoutfitted.com

I cannot recommend the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge enough.

The condo was a perfect choice, located next to the hotel with all its perks. Others have described the accommodations, which include two bedrooms, a workable kitchen, lovely family room, two bathrooms, a small deck, with a rustic feel. Immaculate and updated, the condos are private and very accessible to Diamond Peak and Mt. Rose for skiing. We were very impressed and hope to go back again soon!

Room tip: The condos don't have a view of the lake, but the hotel's beach is a short walk away!

Was offered this condo by friends who could not use it the whole week. It was beautiful.
Two big bedrooms, two bathrooms. Well furnished kitchen. Nice location across from the lake. Sleeps 8 but that would be tight in the little bit small living space.
Friendly, helpful staff, kuriq cofee in the lobby during the day.
Only issue which is common. Thermostat for heater near the fireplace warms the living area but bedrooms stay cold. Bad design plan.

This is our 4th time to Sierra Lodge. 2 BR condos with fireplace and full kitchens. A swimming pool and hot tub. Property sits next to Hyatt Regency and Casino so lots of restaurant choices and nightlife. Diamond Peak 3 minutes from the Hyatt and so are restaurants and markets. Great place to stay for a ski or summer holiday.

Room tip: Top floor units are smaller but quieter- elevator and stairs available.
