We only had a couple of night to experience Palermo so for the last night of our holiday we decided to treat ourselves to a dinner at the only Michelin star resturant in town. We booked a week in advance for a party if 8. The resturant is located in the middle of a resident area. It is quite simple with the decor but very comfortable and cozy. We have ordered some antipasti, starters, mains and desserts so we can sample the variety on offer. Food was presented beautifully and explanation was given to each dish components. A massive selection of wine and whisky (although our first choice of whisky we were hoping to taste was not available). Food was very good and tasty but was lacking a touch of seasoning for my liking. Desserts were the highlight as well as the complimentary sample dishes given between dishes. Waiters were attentive and a visit from the chef herself was appreciated. Not a cheap dinner but expected at that level. Will recommend for the special occasion.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting or living in Palermo for an extended period of time, do yourself the biggest favor and book a dinner at Bye Bye Blues. The delicacies of the flavors, the beauty of the presentation of each course, the freshness of the locally-sourced ingredients (who knew sardines could be so divine!)...made for a meal the likes I have not had since I was lucky enough in 2006 to dine at Arzak in San Sebastian. Even to walk into this lovely minimalist space and be greeted cordially by the owner/chef, Signora Patrizia Di Benedetto (who also took our order and checked back with us during the course of our meal) added to the enjoyment of a wonderful evening. Hands down, a sensory, culinary, cultural experience not to be missed if one is lucky enough to be in Sicily!!

From the outside we were more than surprised when we went inside. A wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious definitely would recommend.

This restaurant aims high and mainly achieves it. A beef tartare starter was under-seasoned but cleverly accompanied by frozen gazpacho: it sounds odd but it worked. A sous vide tomato with quinoa was oddly accompanied by an almost raw crayfish. The place is rather stiff and formal - they need to relax to put their customers at their ease. There is a rather pointless live CCTV display of the service area. A meal for two was 176 euros, of which the food was about 100 euros.
