This was our first time staying at Mule House near Cayon. It will not be our last. Excellent accommodations for people who do not need to be where the action is. We have been to St Kitts many times and have for the most part stayed away from the touristy areas. Sue & Ray are very gracious hosts and we left as friends. We are looking forward to our next stay at Mule House.

I stayed at Mule House for 5 weeks with a group of other medical students whilst on placement in St Kitts. Sue was very helpful before we arrived in St Kitts, answering all of our questions and giving us helpful advice on our stay.

The apartments are very nice, spacious and have a gorgeous view over the garden and the sea. The town centre is accessible by buses which are easily caught from the end of the drive and are $3 (around 75p), although they don't go down to Frigate Bay which is where a lot of the bars and restaurants are.

Sue and Ray were amazing hosts, helping us organise trips while we were there and bringing us fruit from the garden. Overall we loved our stay at Mule House, and would definitely recommend it for the beautiful setting and the fantastic hosts. Thanks Sue and Ray!

A group of 7 of us stayed in Mule House for 5 weeks during the Spring whilst on placement at the hospital in Basseterre. Our hosts, Sue and Ray were great from start to finish. They introduced us to the apartments and gave lots of information about the island as well as organising events for us whilst we were there.

Mule House is located about 15 minutes away from Basseterre on the local buses, which come regularly Mon-Sat during the daytime (and some buses in the early evening and Sundays). A hire car would be ideal, although we didn't have one. The buses don't run down the peninsula towards Frigate Bay or Reggae Beach so you will need a taxi if you don't hire a car.
The gardens are very well maintained and fresh fruit is available from the trees in the garden.

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, hob, kettle, microwave, toaster, but no oven. There is a communal washing machine downstairs which is free to use and plenty of space for drying laundry outside.

A turtle conservation team patrol the beaches about 2 miles from Mule House during nesting season and later when eggs are hatching. Unfortunately on the night we went there we no turtles hatching, however other groups have been lucky enough to see one.

Overall, a great place to stay- mainly due to the friendly and welcoming hosts.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms have a great view from the balcony, overlooking the ocean on the Atlantic side of the island

We stayed at Mule House for a week in February. The owners, Sue and Ray, are very accommodating. Sue was very helpful with all our questions before we went via email. She met us at the airport and then took us to a grocery story so we could pick up a few items until we got our rental vehicle the next day and could go on our own. She also drove us to the rental agency the next day. The view from the front of the apartment is beautiful and the grounds are lovely. The apartment itself was very clean and the rooms are nice-sized. The only room that we really had any problem with was the bathroom; the shower was very small with no where to set anything. There isn't a vanity top or any shelves so we were setting things on the floor. I pulled in a small table from another room to set a few items on.

The apartment is located about 15 minutes from Basseterre, up a lane, and is very quiet. We looked forward going back to it after touring the island. The kitchen is decent, and there is a washing machine and clothes lines if you wish to do laundry.

We loved St. Kitts and would definitely go back.
