I recently stayed at this "resort" wouldn't call it that myself. It was really run down and in need of a major makeover. The TV and radio didn't work there was no phone in the room. The old grey sheets had pilling on them. There was only, one chair to sit outside on and that was tatty and old with spider webs all over it. It was also very noisy with the other guest doing what sounded like karaoke till late. The set menu for dinner was overpriced for what you got. The breakfast was ok.It was probably a nice place in the 70's but looks like it hasn't had any work done since them.I will not be staying here again, total waste of money.

Dear Marilyn
Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our resort. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of the room that need updating. It is a pleasure to announce that we have already started the upgrades to the property. Our rooms will be getting new mattresses, bed skirts, window treatments, timber floors and full coat of fresh paint, in-room accessories, and much more!
We had a group booking here on the night you stayed and they were using the karaoke in the lounge bar. Please accept my apologies if this was noisy ,but we do stipulate with every group a reasonable time of completion so not to upset other guests. Your commitments about the meals I have brought to the attention of the chef.
In taking great care of our country resort , our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Please reach out to me directly at [email] if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back to our new and improved Resort

We were part of a group who travelled from Brisbane and we were really looking forward to having a great time, we did have a good time but that was not thanks to the Homestead. The staff were really friendly and this is what makes this review really hard to write but really the whole place is very very old. Our room had the curtain off some of the hooks, it would only take a few moments to fix this or even replace them as they are so old and a fresh coat of paint would maybe brighten the room up.

Room Tip: ask for a room up the top near the restaurant incase it rains

We had an incredible 5 days at Cherrabah. We have traveled all over Australia and New Zealand and Cherrabah is the first place we have found with enough activities to keep our adventurous family occupied for days. There is horse back riding, quad bikes, hiking to Balancing Rock, mountain biking, field skis, swimming, fishing, wildlife viewing, pool and table tennis. In addition the rooms are air conditioned, the beds are comfortable and the staff are helpful. It was a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend Cherrabah for couples, families or groups looking to get away or have an active holiday in a lovely bush setting.

I must admit, this was not the sort of place we were looking for but could not pass up the price....unfortunately we should have. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us but the property itself was not worth the money we paid. The rooms were reasonably clean but very old. We could not work out how to work the TV and there were not instructions on how to work it. The beds were like sleeping on spring coils with a light cover over them. The cigarette butts outside the rooms hadn't been emptied for a long time. One of the chairs outside fell apart when it was moved. The security lights outside the entry doors in the block didn't come on until 2am so it was quite dangerous trying to walk in and out of the rooms at night. It is a shame because the property is in a spectacular setting and has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay but a lot of money and effort would have to be spent to get it to that point.

If you think of this as a country pub on a farm, you will be not far wrong. The place needs some work alright, but I cant see where you would start. The homestead is great to a point, and the staff friendly. But the rooms were not clean, and were just horrendous -the place is run down like a cane toad in North Queensland. It does have an airstrip. It does have good bitumen roads, but it is not modern or progressive, and you have to ask to find out what can be done as an activity - no one offers anything. We won't be back. although the meal was country pub good in any case. It needs someone to buy it and develop it properly, as it could be exceptional. Avoid unless you have very low expectations or don't get out much. It was only $120 a night for a double and the set menu dinner was only about $40 for two.
