We had an incredible 5 days at Cherrabah. We have traveled all over Australia and New Zealand and Cherrabah is the first place we have found with enough activities to keep our adventurous family occupied for days. There is horse back riding, quad bikes, hiking to Balancing Rock, mountain biking, field skis, swimming, fishing, wildlife viewing, pool and table tennis. In addition the rooms are air conditioned, the beds are comfortable and the staff are helpful. It was a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend Cherrabah for couples, families or groups looking to get away or have an active holiday in a lovely bush setting.

I must admit, this was not the sort of place we were looking for but could not pass up the price....unfortunately we should have. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us but the property itself was not worth the money we paid. The rooms were reasonably clean but very old. We could not work out how to work the TV and there were not instructions on how to work it. The beds were like sleeping on spring coils with a light cover over them. The cigarette butts outside the rooms hadn't been emptied for a long time. One of the chairs outside fell apart when it was moved. The security lights outside the entry doors in the block didn't come on until 2am so it was quite dangerous trying to walk in and out of the rooms at night. It is a shame because the property is in a spectacular setting and has the potential to be a wonderful place to stay but a lot of money and effort would have to be spent to get it to that point.

If you think of this as a country pub on a farm, you will be not far wrong. The place needs some work alright, but I cant see where you would start. The homestead is great to a point, and the staff friendly. But the rooms were not clean, and were just horrendous -the place is run down like a cane toad in North Queensland. It does have an airstrip. It does have good bitumen roads, but it is not modern or progressive, and you have to ask to find out what can be done as an activity - no one offers anything. We won't be back. although the meal was country pub good in any case. It needs someone to buy it and develop it properly, as it could be exceptional. Avoid unless you have very low expectations or don't get out much. It was only $120 a night for a double and the set menu dinner was only about $40 for two.

This place should be closed DOWN, the website does not do it any justice, it is false advertising, the rooms are old, the beds are hard, the tv does not work and is old, the bathroom is old, the food is shocking, the dining area is like an old chinese restaurant, the activities what... they don't always have them, breakfast well its the same people who do horse riding who serve food, atmosphere what atmosphere no shows or nothing, I had the worst time of life and WOULD NOT EVER EVER recommend this place, I might as well have stayed in a tent

Room Tip: Don't Go There

My partner and I chose Cherrabah to have our wedding at... it was a whole weekend thing and I cannot fault the staff in the slightest... if anything I would praise their dedication to us and our family and friends. They went above and beyond to make sure our special day went off without a hitch... and it did! The location is amazing... nestled in the elbow valley, you are surrounded by mountains and the homestead was done up to get that relaxed country feel. It was a perfect venue for everyone that attended the wedding that weekend as it caters for so many different walks of life with all its awesome facilities. If you are thinking about having a wedding there, I would recommend it... it’s the ultimate location for a real country wedding. The prices are unbelievably affordable for the amount you get and the service is just phenomenal! Not to mention the awesome meals we got from Friday night until Sunday morning... REAL country meals that everyone will enjoy!

Room Tip: They are all good rooms... neat and tidy... if you have trouble walking, make sure you make that know when you book because some are quite a fair way away.
