Description: Located in the heart of Southwestern Montana, the Livingston location was the original Chop House that began May 22, 2001. In 2004 we relocated a few blocks down from the original location to an old railroad receiving warehouse just a few feet away from the main line of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad now known as Montana Rail Link. The food is fun, the service is great and you will leave knowing you did't just have dinner, but a dining experience.

Last day in Montana, decided to go back and visit Livingston. The Rib and Chop House was excellent. Montana steak and Elk burger were our choices. They did not disappoint. Do not miss this great place to eat.

Went Wednesday night for dinner at 6, & the place was packed, wall to wall. Had reservations, so seated right away.
Ordered a cocktail- so so - and the fried green tomatoes appetizer. They were fantastic! Perfectly fried, flavorful & served on a bed of homemade blue cheese dressing, then finished with lump crab on top.
Entree was Filet -16oz - and it was cooked to perfection at medium rare. Friends had Baseball Cut Sirloin, which was seasoned & cooked nicely, but not nearly as tender as filet.
Garlic mashed & squash mashed were excellent, but wish portions were bigger for sharing.
Creme Brûlée was lovely, served w homemade whipped cream for extra decadence. They run out fast, so order it early!
The meal was wonderful & the atmosphere lively, but not loud. Highly recommend!!!

We went to the Rib and Chop House on a busy Saturday evening while weekending in Livingston. We were seated at the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly locals. I had the baseball cut of steak and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. I also enjoyed the gumbo and garlic mashed potatoes. The only thing that detracted from our visit was the service. Our waitress often disappeared for 20+ minutes and acted put out to serve us. However, we still had a great time and will likely return next time we are in town!

It's a great place but we felt it was a little over priced. Service was great and food was great too. A lot of options, would go back again if I had money burning in my pocket.

This place was suggested to us by a lady at the hotel. The ribs were far from hot, but I didn't have an issue with that (some may, so I included that). They were spicy, had a really good flavor and fell off the bone. The fries were typical fries. My wife had steak. It was cooked perfectly and had good flavor. I would eat here again.
