Small family restaraunt with nightly specials. Excellent pizza and the Eggplant Parmaganna is amazing.

We had a party of five and they had about four tables of four available but refused to improvise and put a chair at the end. A waitress was somewhat rude and said large parties should make reservations, didn't know five was "large". A family of four gave us their six seat table. The hostess threw the menus down and said here's your table without even cleaning it. Anyway, food wasn't good but mostly the rudeness will keep us away.

Service was outstanding. Salads were ok but only average. My Italian toast beef sandwich was nicely toasted but I paid an extremely 50 cents for onions and peppers and they were scarce. The roast beef was flavorless. My wife's eggplant parm was so/so.

I'm not a big fan of St Louis style Italian food. The red sauce is too sweet and the bread is too soft and gummy. However, this place is pretty good. An appropriate level of tangy and herby sauce. The potions are enormous. The atmosphere is pretty typical..... I warned my pal the Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra were loud. The service was slow but she was gracious and helpful when she came. Kids eat free one day a week. I'd go back.

If you are looking for a very family friendly Italian restaurant, Joe Boccardi's is a top pick. The pizza is thin STL style and delicious. Toasted Raviolis are yummy. The salads- esp the Spinach salad are wonderful. During the warm months- the patio is a great option with a big screen TV to watch some sports. There are monay Italian places in STL, but this a great pick!
