A friend, who is a native of Sao Miguel, took us to this restaurant for what he calls the best sopa de peixe (fish soup) on the island. I normally do not like fish soups as they are normally too fishy for me.
We had the Sopa de Peixe (fish soup) and the Caldierada de Peixe (fish stew) and they were both excellent. The fish was delicate and flavorful without being "fishy". The ingredients were fresh and flavorful.
This is a very small establishment, away from the normal touristy areas and parking is very limited but it is so worth the trip.
