Owner description: The valley that cradles Bennett Spring has created a place of peace and recreation that has welcomed generations of enthusiastic anglers. Bennett Spring State Park is one of Missouri’s earliest state parks and continues today to attract fishermen and nature lovers seeking to make new memories. More than 100 million gallons of clear, cool water gush from Bennett Spring each day and form a spring branch stocked daily with rainbow trout waiting for lucky fishermen. Fishing may be the main draw but the park also offers many other amenities such as a dining lodge, campgrounds, cabins and hiking trails. Whether you are a traditional fishing enthusiast or someone seeking a place to relax and refresh, Bennett Spring State Park has what you need to make every trip one to remember.

Stop by the Bennett Springs trout hatchery. Definitely a must see and great place to stay in MO! Recommend Riverfront campground for accommodations, canoe/raft rentals and a scenic place to stay.

Returning home from Branson, we stopped at Bennett Spring one of Missouri’s State Parks, which we learned had also been a CCC camp. Fishermen were everywhere fishing for and catching trout. A man proudly lifted to show me his stringer of two beautiful trout that he had caught. We dined at their Lodge. One offering was soup and salad which my husband had. I ordered a vegetarian omelette which came with a side of hash browns, toast, and a slice of an orange. Both brunches were delicious. The park offers a very nice gift store and a huge camping area.

We booked two nights, tent camping, in October. We go every year at this time. Other parks we stay at have patrols that go around several times a day. This one only had one on the second day and that was because we had to complain about people not being quite until 2am!

The scenery is beautiful, but the restrooms are nasty! The showers are covered in mold and the toilets didn't look like they were well maintained either. Spiders and bugs everywhere because they have open windows at the top.

We didn't catch any fish worth talking about but a lot of people did. I also don't care for them cleaning the fish in the stream and feeding the other trout making them harder to catch because they know they will get fed eventually.

Working on the Missouri State Park Centennial Passport challenge and Bennett Spring was next on our list. The park is lovely and there are a lot of great places to photograph. It is definitely oriented to fishing - so we made them the backdrop for our pics! I did find the park maps to be somewhat confusing, and wish that the trail heads had a bit more (or clearer) signage. It was a beautiful day to out-n-about!!
