We came here to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Two other couples came with us. They loved it as much as we did the first time. The caretakers were wonderful, making delicious breakfasts every morning. They helped us make dinner reservations in Zijua, gave some of the only accurate directions we got in Mexico, and made us feel at home. Since we were here last a small bar opened across the street, making for very convenient (and delicious) margaritas or michelados when we were in the mood. I cannot imagine staying anyplace else. Also, there are TONS of books to read!

Room tip: If you stay in one of the upper suites I recommend moving the floor fan to outside your bed so you have two, as it can get hot in the evenings. I think the best suits is the one downstairs, with the hammock on the private porch.

While travelling fairly economically in Mexico during high season is not too hard, we splurged a little to stay here to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was clean, felt safe, and was quiet. The setting is amazing, steps from a massive surfing beach with the sound of the waves as your background noise. The all Mexican staff fed us an excellent and varied breakfast everyday. We could have stayed for MUCH longer quite happily.

Room tip: There is no food other than breakfast but kitchenettes & use of main kitchen available. MANY good, (cheap to N.Americans), restaurants nearby. Best rooms on the roof or the rosa suite. The place would be loud if children lodging there due to the vicinity of the pool and foyer to the rooms. VERY important, no access to banks or credit in this village!

This resort was great! We rented the two suites (Delfin and Papaya), and they were worth it! Open air rooms with mosquito net beds. Each room had a double and a single bed, both were provided with fans and water, and each had a sink, shower, and toilet. The resort is great, with a tranquil feel and beautiful views. There's surfboards for rent (US$10 day), and a great spot for both beginners (stick to the foam!) and experts (5-7 ft breakers) right out on the beach! There was wireless and daily breakfasts too. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance (15 minutes tops), and stores that sell beer nearby too, although the hotel's competitive on beer prices. Across the street is a 'cocktail' stand where we got our daily michelada fix. So great, ask for a little extra picante!

The only complaint is at times the staff seemed to make us feel bad about our behavior. My mother got scolded several times about washing dishes when they weren't used for breakfast (she did), and you just don't really want to get scolded on vacation. We also got frustrated about our return taxi, which, although a rip off (we were tired at the airport and paid for a return trip too), caused us to lose out on even more money because we were told it's illegal to have airport taxis come pick you up in Troncones. Don't worry though, they've got a taxi driver in the family that can come pick you up! So, remember not to get a return taxi (common sense probably!), and use the ones from Casa Delfin. They're cheaper anyway!

I've been a few times but have not written a well deserved review yet.

You can tell by the other reviews that this place is pretty much as chill and relaxing as it gets. What more can you ask for? Your own infinity pool, clean rooms, super accommodating staff, ice cream fridge $1.00 beers and literally spitting distance to a world class spectacular beach that on most days is completely empty. Like I said.....perfect.

The Casa isn't ultra luxury but if that's what your looking for then your should probably search out something in Ixtapa and not Troncones.

Glen, (the owner) is great guy that goes out of his way to ensure your satisfied. If he happens to be there, he might even guide you to what might be the best left hand point break in Mexico, only 40 mins down the road. The surf in this area in unreal and usually pretty empty. The beach out front can get surfable, but I've never had it working.

Feel free to email me if you have any further questions but rest assured you will absolutely fall in love with this place. Kiss the All-Inclusives good bye. This is a real holiday.

D.

Room tip: Stay in the suites upstairs. Open air with lots of room. A great experience once you get used to the sound of pounding waves all night.

This place is heaven in earth for us, and we come at least once every year. It's clean, simple (do not expect any luxuries), comfortable and the staff is very nice. You have access to a full-equipped kitchen, rooms have a/c and wireless internet (but no phone).

It has a great pool, and you'll find a very friendly cat named Alfa (that looks just like Garfield!). The place is right on the beach (beautiful, clean, uncrowded beach).

I know news about Mexico talk a lot about insecurity right now, but this place is safe and quiet. We even leave our things in the beach and go for a walk and never had a problem.

This is the perfect place to relax. There's not much to do except for reading a book or magazine (both available in the house) and enjoying the scenery. The house has beach equipment (coolers, boogie-board, bikes, etc) that you can borrow for free!

Place is better than the pictures on the website. Breakfast is included and it’s fine: juices, fresh fruit, yogurt, and one hot dish per day. Sunday chilaquiles are great!

Cons- Since this is a house rather than a hotel, you share common areas with other guests (that sometimes are noisy) but talk to the staff if this is a problem, and they’ll come up with a solution.

***
