Have stayed at a lot of Marriott properties. This one was a little more rundown that most. They are undergoing some updates, but these seem like more for the lobby / hallways that the rooms. Some examples are: alarm clock with broken plastic lens, room doors that stuck, and a deadbolt that would not work,
However, everything was clean and the staff gets an A+ in my book. We were offered cookies and water when we checked in.
The bedding was typical with different pillow options. The room was quiet (however, I felt the hotel was only about 25% full, so game weekends might be different).
The towels in the room were very rough and older. Also, it had been raining in the area for 2-3 days and the hotel was VERY humid. The HVAC units just couldn't keep up.
The breakfast was typical of Marriott properties (although I miss the flavor add-ins for coffee available at some properties). The food was fresh and well stocked.
Lastly, the pool was about half the size as most (which means it was REALLY small). The exercise room was also pretty tiny.
Overall, the best thing about this property is their staff and cleanliness. The hotel as a whole is rundown and abused. They may have a plan to fix that; but we found ourselves wishing we were at a place a little more polished.More
