The first thing you notice is that the route to this restaurant is rather seedy, but once you arrive and let the valet park your car, it is a fantastic restaurant. We visited this restaurant with four friends who are locals in St. Martin. As we stepped into the dining room, we noticed how elegant it is and our table was on a balcony which had a view of the water and Anguilla in the distance. The waiter was very professional and made sure that every detail of our experience was perfect. We began with appetizers and found that the escargot and the French Onion soup were the best. I have never seen the soup cooked in a crock with pastry over the top and the cheese layered on top of the pastry. When it is presented, the waiter cuts the pastry into the soup and the cheese falls into the soup. Every entree was delicious. Our group had the roasted duck, filet of sole, and Chateaubriand. The wine list is also very complete. For dessert, we had the souffle with Grand Marnier and it was the best I have ever tasted! After a bottle of Champagne to celebrate our friendship and two bottles of wine with dinner, we all left full and happy. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the experience and the wonderful food. We will return for sure.

We were totally impressed with this restaurant. It didn't look like much from the outside but what a surprise this was! The waiter was awesome in suggesting a nice seafood combo in a frido shell. It was to die for!! The lobster bisque was awesome. The presentation was something that the chef really takes pride in, we would definitely return here soon. We decided to take our wine bottle home for a nice remembrance of LeSantal.

My husband and I had two delightful dinners here during our week stay in St Martin. We generally always try to make this restaurant one of our first stops. It is really delightful, with an "old world ambiance", attentive but not intrusive service, and "over the top" cuisine. The view from the balconied tables is magical, and certainly creates a romantic atmosphere. We tried the sole, lobster bisque, gazpacho, and a grand mariner soufflé. Everything was perfect. I felt that the portions were just right for us. The beurre blanc sauce accompanying the sole, and the grand mariner sauce were perfect. Their chef is very talented and creates his sauces with real knowledge and expertise. On our first night our waiter chose for us a fine French chablis, not over priced. On our second evening the owner, Nada, stopped by, and we enjoyed a delightful conversation. We have always had very personal service here. The restaurant is a little difficult to find, but not far off the beaten path. The valet parks your car and is waiting when you leave. This restaurant is sure to create very special memories, and we can't wait to come back to St Martin and try some of their other delicacies!

This was, by far, our most delightful dining experience in SXM. One has to persevere to find Le Santal, but your efforts will be well worth it. This is an elegant restaurant, the view is exquisite, and the service is perfect. The food was beyond delicious and beautifully presented. We highly recommend this fabulous restaurant!

Sitting by candlelight overlooking the ocean in a fantastic restaurant. Scallops were perfect, dessert was divine, fresh baked rolls were phenomenal. The service is impeccable. Don't miss this beautiful gem off the beaten path.
