I love this place. The rooms are clean and unique. Service at the front desk is prompt and friendly. Best of all this is walking distance to the main street in Stillwater. We had a king jacuzzi room. The tub was wonderful...just what we needed after a day of shopping. We had breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. Scrambled eggs cooked perfectly with toast and bacon. Highly recommend the Lowell Inn.

Stayed here for the weekend in one of the old Victorian rooms. It was very reasonably priced and rooms were spacious and very clean. The staff was very nice and welcoming and the maid service was exceptional. The hotel has onsite parking that they validate and you are right smack dab in downtown walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. only downside is that walls are paper thin and toilet takes almost a minute to flush. But all in all this place was great and I would return again.

Room tip: The queen suite is very nice.

My husband & I were in Stillwater, MN to browse and shop at the Antique stores in town and came across the lovely Lowell Inn. We decided to stop-in for a bite of lunch. We were seated in the George Washington room which recreates the elegance, charm & romance of Colonial Williamsburg. The food was delicious and the pace was very relaxing. I began with a bowl of their signature "Mushroom Soup", which is divine! My husband started with a "Caesar Salad" which was also very good. For our main course, my husband had the "Turkey Cranberry Parmesan" sandwich and I had the "6oz Grilled Petite Tenderloin". We took a taste of each other's meals and let me say that they were amazing!! Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. For desert, we had an amazing "Chocolate Fondue" which was heavenly!! We can't wait to return there in the not too distant future.

My husband and I had a lovely breakfast at the Lowell Inn. The Lowell Inn has been there since 1927.The dining room is lovely and features beautiful chandeliers and ornately carved antique grandfather clocks and a picture of George Washington. I had a Denver Omelet with breakfast potatoes, an English muffin and a bit of pretty fruit served upon the white linen covered table on white square plates. The breakfast was very appealing looking and cooked perfectly. My husband had the Lowell Inn breakfast. He liked it very well, especially the bacon which he reported was tasty. The service was impeccable. We expected the breakfast to be expensive because of the elegant surroundings but it was no worse than most places. I'd like to go back in a few months and dine outside.

I was pretty disappointed in my experience here. I expected an older, quaint hotel, but that isn't exactly what this is. Our room had a "bathroom" which was separated from the bedroom by a curtain and not a wall or a door. This is just a strange configuration. All night long, the hotel had a radio ad on repeat, playing in the hallway but clearly audible in room. The last thing I wanted to hear was pop music on repeat, for the entire night and into the morning.
Not a hotel selection I would make again.
