If you love contemporary Italian food, you must try try IE! This neighborhood restaurant space is inviting with a communal table, bar, booths and outdoor tables, too. (It was a bit loud, probably because of the enthusiastic clientele!)
Four of us shared the Semolina Dumplings. Normally three dumplings are served but our waitress happily added a fourth for us. I wished we had ordered more, as this dish, which included braised mushrooms, Grana Padana and Taleggio cheese, adorned with fresh sweat pea shoots, was so delicious!
Two of us ordered the Ricotta Cavatelli which was swathed with a tasty bolognese sauce. We shared the grilled broccolini which had a wonderful Comte cream sauce. Two ordered the Chilean sea bass and found it to be outstanding! The only negative was one of the fish portions was very small and both accompaniments of seasonal vegetables were also very skimpy.
We shared a tiramisu for dessert that was creamy and outstanding and of a size quite nice for sharing.
Our waitress, Erica, was helpful, knowledgeable and attentive and we were all very impressed by the service.
We will return in the near future, of that I am sure!

Excellent bread to start. Very nice cocktail menu. The mezcal drink is nice. My pasta was good as well. Homemade noodles were properly cooked. Good sauce. However, crimini mushrooms were a pretty boring selection by the chef. I mean come on, when mushrooms are the highlight of a dish, use a more interesting varietal.

We came here to celebrate my husbands birthday. Food was great! Corkage fee was only $15 so we brought our own wine :) pastas and sides were very tastey. This is a casual environment. We dressed up a bit and I felt Overdressed. The patio looked nice but we didn’t sit outside because of the heat.

Interesting decor. I would like to meet the person(s) with such eclectic imagination(s). Our server, Kiersten, made great food into an enjoyable meal. Four of us shared 4 items and 2 deserts. Shaved Root Vegetable Salad (we ordered 2 for the 4 of us) was amazing. Surprising textures, well balanced citirs and oil, It was fun to eat which is not an adjective often used to describe food. Roasted mushroom cappelletti was delicious. It would have been nice to have a couple extra cappelletti fro the 4 of us. Fresh pasta is always better. Baked wild boar meatballs garganelli was wonderful. The meatballs were tender, large and wonderfully seasoned. Nothing strong, just a nicely balanced mix of spices. The cheese complimented the dish without being overpowering. Dry rubbed beef short-rib was moist, tender and very flavorful. I would order any of these items again but next time I want to try some of their other creations.

Deserts were Tiramisu and a chocolate olive oil torte. The torte was rich but not too dense. The Tiramisu was pretty standard and very good.

My only request is to price the wines to make it easier to choose a wine that best fit the meal.

Would we come back: absolutely but I would check to see if Kiersten was working that day. All of the staff who serviced our table were polite, efficient and didn't "interrupt" our meal.

We went for a second time after having a great first visit. We ordered the meatballs first and they were great. We then ordered the bucatini and a side of cauliflower. The cauliflower was wonderful, but the bucatini was very undercooked. We told the waitress, and she took the undercooked entree saying she would get it fixed. Soon thereafter the manager brought a new bucatini dish, and it was excellent. When we got the bill we were surprised that they did not charge us for the bucatini as we had a full serving. We double checked with the manager and he said he wanted to be sure we had a good experience and would return. We will.
