We met some friends here for a Saturday morning breakfast. It is not huge, yet we felt fine carrying on the conversation as if we were in private. We each had a hot drink and something to eat. I have to say, the quiche is the best! We had spinach-mushroom and it also had cheese ---really, really good. I want to go back and try others. I also had a chai and that was really good, too --just a bit too sweet, yet very flavorful (they use Maya Chai mix). The others had scones, which were quite good (maybe would have been great if they were warmed up?). It is a bit pricey, but a very nice spot.

You cant get a better cup of coffee anywhere. And his pastries are truly wonderful! The owner Tony takes real pride in his food and he gives a warm welcome to everyone who walks in the door.

Fresh scones, yummy quiche, soups and sandwiches,
bars and cookies served with delicious coffee and fun banter with locals! Really a neighborhood spot, run by a couple of good folks. It is a comfortable spot and not at all like the chains!

Tony runs this small location in an otherwise uninspiring strip mall (unless you're into cigars at the location next store). Tony's wife helps out when she not doing ER work in a local hospital, and occasionally other family members help as well. The quiche and scones are homemade and dangerous to anyone trying to avoid carbs. There is also a limited menu for lunch and breakfast - including some excellent soups.
Tony knows many of his regulars by name, and is not above exchanging some political chaff - in a friendly manner. (Example: Me: Large espresso, please. Tony: Sorry, we're not serving lawyers today. Me: I'm a law professor. I merely grow lawyers. Tony: Worse.")

TK's has been a routine for me for several years. Tony the proprietor is always friendly and seeks to know his customers. He is a formally trained chef. The soups and sandwiches are much better than typical coffee shop fare. Great place to hide on a late afternoon with the paper, tea and some of the fresh bakery ( try some of Melissa's cakes). We also occasionally fax in orders for our office lunch.
