“A Fitting Memorial”

Reviewed 18 October 2017

Unless you are familiar with the life and times of Senator Wellstone, from the green bus to his tireless fights for equality and fairness, this may not mean much. Come and enjoy the solitude. And say a little prayer

This is as close as one can get to the Wellstone crash site. It is a few miles off of US 53 on Bodas Road. Worth the drive. There is a path through the woods with memorial stones and excellent information about Paul and Sheila Wellstone. The path is not very long, but there is minimal maintenance, and if you visit in the summer bring bug repellant.

Not too well kept up. There are a couple short trails one with a fallen tree in the way and some memorial rocks and other information about the former Senator. The trail to the crash site is overgrown and probably full of ticks and mosquitos also .I also wonder why this guy was so important to get a memorial when there are so many other average people that have died in plane crashes and get nothing for it.

I visit here quite often. It's always quiet here in the middle of the woods. The site is a short 3 mile drive off of US 53. It's easy to miss because the signage is minimal. The walking path has great info on the life of Paul and Sheila Wellstone.
