We had the room with 4 queen beds. Very nice sized room. Moved chairs around to be able to chat and play cards. Coffee and pastries tasty. You need to bring your own toiletries. They provided hand/body soap but not shampoo/conditioner or lotion. The front desk is not manned 24/7. I would stay again.

Room Tip: several steps to get to the upstairs rooms

Thank you Donna for taking the time to review our Inn. The large room with 4 beds is great for groups. With plenty of room around the beds to spread out. I would like to mention that we do not put out those little plastic bottles of soaps and creams because of the waste and the poor quality of the soap. Our shower gel is great for hair and body. It is all plant based with no PABA. Very gentle and hypoallergenic scented with essential oils. Hand soap is called Gentle soap and made right in Minneapolis. Also plant based and very safe for all skin types. We do have someone on site 24 hrs a day. We just shut down the office after 10 pm if we arent busy and the night desk person can rest. Night desk stays overnight and the office is not locked. Anyone who needs assistance can get a person to help out. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to describe some of our offerings. We are also pleased that you would return to us again.

We only stayed here briefly, travelling down from Canada, to bring our dog to Ely for surgery.
One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. Loved the down pillows and duvet! Very clean place. In a very small town in the middle of the wilderness, this place is a gem. You can tell the owners take pride in their Inn. Very friendly and accommodating. Will recommend to any one travelling down from Thunder Bay, On for vet services ..
Would definitely stay again.

Stayed at the Adventurer Inn In Ely for wildlife viewing. This inn is one I would not recommend . The room desperately needs (the inn as well) to be spruced up. The bathroom had an old stall shower with a shower curtain. Furniture was worn and there
was only soap dispensers. No phone in the room if one needed one.

They do have coffee and muffins in the office but only until 11 AM.

If I were to return I would look for a nicer place,

Room Tip: Do not recommend

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were disappointed with your accommodations. Mark made the bed, the desk, and the chairs are all new or newer. The Credenza may be older, but not worn out. We do not have phones in any of the rooms as most people travel with cell phones these days. We do offer the office phone for anyone to use at any time if needed. We also relay messages back and forth if needed as well. You requested an accessible room and that meant a large shower stall capable of holding a wheel chair if necessary. We needed to use a surround shower stall in order to accomplish this requirement. Also, the shower curtain makes it much easier to maneuver. We do not use small bottles of soap as it is a waste of plastic, but instead offer an excellent plant based, all natural liquid soap that we use in our soap dispensers. We cannot compete with the larger chain hotels as we are a small family run Inn in Ely. Most of the lodging in Ely are family run, small and perhaps a bit more rustic than what you would find in a large city. We try very hard to provide a comfortable and friendly stay for each of our guests. Again, I thank you for taking the time to write a review.

This is a nice little place to stay, I appreciated that the manager called me w/ a last minute cancellation on a better, less expensive room. Pros include clean, modern, updated, very accommodating, tea & coffee in the morning. Cons: noisy - esp if you leave the windows open (right on main st) and you have noisy neighbors. The heater/AC blew extremely dry air, not so good in cooler temps. Morning pastries were ok, beds were way too firm to our liking. I would stay here again if not for the beds, but would do so in a pinch, we need them medium firm.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms are newer, possibly quieter, get a back of the lot room so you don't have street noise.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. I am happy you enjoyed the room change as we do try hard to accommodate everyone's needs. I am baffled a bit about the hot dry air heat as we have infloor heat in our rooms. We do have heat pumps mounted in each of the rooms but have been left on A/C mode until the temps drop. Usually end of October, then everything is set to heat only. I am sorry that the beds were too firm for your liking. We have all new mattresses in our rooms and they are of top quality eurotop mattresses. Our windows are triple pane as well. If, closed tightly, they filter out most of the road noise. All of the small motels in Ely are on the Main street and during our busy season, there are a lot of vehicles on the road. We do appreciate taking the time to review us.
